Which music feeds/touches your soul?
Makes you happy, want to dance, sing, cheers you up, makes you feel sad, reminds you of something?

Rimskij-Korsakov's Hummelflug (Flight of the Bumble-Bee) really does send me! Though it is short I am spell-bound in my tracks wherever I hear it played!

I love it. Always have!

There are a lot of songs, popular ones, mostly oldies and old rock for me though, that I call "Happy Songs."

Also...I love musicals!

There are 4 that move me deeply.

Enya - Falling Embers

Loreena McKennett - Dante's Prayer

Josh Groban - To Where You Are

My favorite soul moving song though has got to be the theme from Titanic.

I ran by the Seagulls.

Friend of the Devil by the Grateful Dead.

Dream On by Aerosmith.

songs from the 80's are nostalgiac (sp!) for me so I love those..

Enigma, enya, art of noise, all that stuff is good. Heehee I like notorious BIG too, he moves my soul!

Stairway to Heaven is AWESOME, Jimi Hendrix rocked my soul!!

I have always loved music - all genre's of music! I've realized in the past year the Uni-verse often sends signs through music, and I listen hard for those. But I'd have to agree with juniperb wholeheartedly on Moonlight Sonata. The deep classical works move me...St. Matthew's Passion - Mozart's Requiem...too many to name!

I also love Dream On by Aerosmith!

November Rain also gives me chills..

I don't know much about classic music, but some others are:

Let It Be-Beatles (my all time Beatles fave-gotta love the beatles)
Lightening Crashes-Live
Sleepwalk-Santo & Johnny (b/c it reminds me of this wonderful Libra that I connected with one summer night in Pennsylvania...*sigh*)
A lot of Billy Joel songs
sound of silence-simon & garfunkel

And some other cheesy stuff...because I have a cheesy side.

Ever try to make a list of songs that remind you of people? I tried once, and it's hard...and funny!

As for musicicals, I especially love:
On My Own - Les Mis
Shall We Dance - The King and I
Some stuff from the soundtracks to Hair, My Fair Lady, Gigi, South Pacific, etc.

I know...I'm a dork

You're not a dork..

speaking of songs that remind me of people, for some reason when I hear the Eagles I imagine that Michael Douglas is singing. So if I hear Hotel California I just see Michael belting it out..I can't stop that association in my mind, it's so funny! But try to picture it and I think you'll agree

I think it's funny. Btw, Fatal Attraction was on tv this weekend...

I'll never listen to Hotel California the same way again...

But I can sort of understand it. Don Henly and Michael Douglas both have a sort of weathered look and sound to their voices.

Exactly!! ANd yes let me tell you you'll never listen to it the same way again. You'll just see Michael Douglas and think "thanks Fajita"

You are right, the wind blowing thru their hair, all that soul in their eyes, to me they are the same

Yeah Fajita-I purposely played Hotel California on the Jukebox 2 nights ago...thanks, Fajita! LOL

And Rainbow-
I heard the soundtrack to Oh Brother Where Art Thou was supposed to be very good. Alas, I never saw the movie.

Another good song is "Angel of the Morning" (it was also from the Girl, Interrupted soundtrack...I liked pretty much all of the tracks from the movie).

lol re Michael Douglas

Many years ago I used to work with someone whose husband used to travel quite a bit. Anyway she used to look forward to her hubby going away so she could have an "affair" with Michael Douglas......
"The affair" was that she would then watch movie after movie after movie with Michael Douglas in and after those guess who she dreamed about

Pachelbel Kanon' s the music piece that moves me most. A mixture of emotion and joy.
Others:
Lithium - Nirvana
Sweet child o'mine - Guns and Roses Bryan Adams' Heaven
Glycerine - Bush
Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry
....
ok it's enough, otherwise the list would be endless..
