I need a spell of concealment. Here's the deal: there is a wildernessy area near my house where I've decided to build a hide-out. I don't think I'm to old for that kind of thing, by the way. I don't want anyone to find it, so I'm going to enchant it with a spell of concealment so no- one can find.

Any spells for this kind of thing in the repertoire?

Hey QOS, Cat has your spells covered, but don`t forget to talk to the Elementals. It`s their territory you`re moving into & you want to make sure they will help you in your adventure!!!

They love a good heart & helping out!!

What Juniper said! The Earth Elementals will protect your space if you respect them.

Thanks, everyone. Second question: how do I deal with the Elementals? What do they like?

OK, how 'bout this- I make them a pile of rocks for a house and decorate it with plants etc- and I avoid being loud, noisy, and offensive in their domain. Is that good, or is there a spell I need to recite?

Queen, I simply draw a circle & ask all the elementals to gather close and & please hear me. The stones & flowers are a wonderful gift to them!!

Just let them know you will be in THEIR domain and tell them what you plan & you will respect (they require respect)their home.

Ask for any help you may need ie like keeping hidden. Be harmonious to the surroundings, always thank them for sharing and offerings of sweets & flowers make them happy too.

Look to your heart and you will know exactly to say to your special helpers

Elementals just adore shiny new pennies and teeny little mirrors!!! Always, always offer shiny teeny objects as a sacred offering to the elementals......especially after you ask for their help. They delight in seeing their own reflection in shiny objects!!!

I always leave a shiny penny by the trees in my yard.....the elementals protect them and keep them healthy.

What La-Tee-Da said! And remember never to take anything without thanking them, not even an acorn or a leaf. They are especially fond of gathering under Oak trees. The acorn carries all the ancient magick of the Oak. I keep one in my car at all times for Protection.

Umm. It didn't really work, there a was a big storm which did it in and I never really repaired it, and then I moved to a new house, so I don't have much incentive to go back and finish it.

However, there is another wilderness area near my new house, and so I will be on the lookout for new locations I could use. I haven't found any yet-- but it took me about 6 months to find my first site, so I will keep looking. If and when I find a site, I will have to find ways to construct it organically, since it would be impractical and illegal to bring building materials into the park. I think it is going to have a Tolkien elf theme, which design wise means white, tentlike structures, lanterns, and someone playing the harp.

Closer to home, my mom has hatched a plan to redesign the backyard; we were considering a Zen garden. So I have a lot of construction coming up!

When ever I am expecting to tread in certain territory or when I am designing a pouch for (sorry if this offends some) hunting or outdoor exploring, I cast some sacred pollen in 4 directions in honor of the elements.

I always include a note on what the person should do when being out in the "natural" world and how they should act when entering and exiting those worlds.

For my hunting friend, I gave him White Sage, Sweet Grass, Ceder and golden pollen.

Burn the sage to cleanse the area (or items being used) and remember to search your soul, be sure you are doing it for the right reasons and that you truly have a respect for nature and the animals.

Then cast the pollen in the 4 directions, thanking each for their power and permission. Remember that you are part of the 4 directions and at some time you will return to complete the circle, since we are all one.

Leave an offering - several people have provided you with great ideas, but I have to stress, you must feel it in your heart.

Sorry the storm caused some damage, but that doesn't mean the spell didn't work. It may be trying to tell you something. Maybe you built it in the wrong area or maybe the damage could have been worse.

Good luck.

I was wandering in my park the other day and discovered this long valley I had never noticed before. It is very well hidden and hard to get to-- there are only a few practical entrances. I'll look around there.
