Hi Ladies Hands up all those who recognise and have ever asked that question Think of all the years that woman have been worried about this Well here's the good news ...big bottoms are "in" and apparently very good for us Here's an article I've just read..... Bigger is Better Say Bottom Boffins SEXY J.Lo-style bums have been given the thumbs up by scientists, who say women with curves are much healthier than their skinnier counterparts. A team of researchers spent thousands of hours comparing the type of posterior flaunted by Jennifer Lopez, Kate Winslet and Emma Bunton to those sported by Kylie Minogue, Catherine Zeta Jones and Geri Halliwell. And the painstaking research discovered that the women with smaller bottoms - known as 'apples' - were more likely to become ill than more curvy women, classified as 'pears'. Experts believe that women who are pears have greater resistance to disease, due to the location of fat deposits. Apple women tend to accumulate fat on their tums, which is more likely to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Fat on the hips and bum tends to stay put - causing less potential damage. The researchers at Gothenburg University found that women with larger hips suffer less ill-health and live longer than their slimmer counterparts. One expert, Dr Richard Holt of Southampton University, said: "Although there are strong links between obesity and diabetes and heart disease, what matters more is where the fat is laid down. "If you're apple-shaped you're so much more likely to get these problems."

What I would like to know is which company is spending people's hard earned dollars to research a study on women's a**es. It wouldn't suprise me if it was Federaly funded, or whatever the equivalent is in England if that's where the study was done!Heidi IP: Logged |

Ohmigawd...and there's more..... http://www.uk.aol.com/channels/health/dietingtools/hlt_slim_hipwaist.html I refuse to do this measuring exercise on the grounds that it may make me "sick" Also note where it says...... "NOTE: Do not pull tightly on the measuring tape in either instance". Yes...like we are soooo not going to do that.... Hmmm and what about where it says..... Waist-Hip Ratio Research shows that people with 'apple-shaped' bodies (with more weight around the waist) face more health risks than those with 'pear-shaped' bodies (that carry more weight around the hips). It doesn't mention where waist and hip = the same Sue IP: Logged |

I never believe in any of these research claims! I think it's a lot of bull crap and it doesn't matter what the size of your body parts are. Sorry I don't care much! I may have a big butt or a small butt but that's in the eye of the beholder.-StarLover IP: Logged |

Raj I very rarely believe or take too much notice of statistics. Virgo's never just "accept" things. Never had a problem with my "bum" so this survey wouldn't help whatsoever, other than to give me a
