This article is fascinating, especially the way in which astrology is brought in. Check it out. http://www.well.com/user/davidu/mithras.html

My Latin teacher told me about these secret religions during the Roman Empire!

Unfortunately they were kept so secretive that no one knows anything about them.

The article certainly explains that it's still a mystery being pieced together.

The Astrology is amazing they knew the Earth was round.

Speaking of Latin, I have to do a project on a spooky person of mythology.

Guess who I chose Pluto God of the Underworld. Wooohooo!

And so you get to talk about Scorpio and death and all that!
Star-- you take Latin? Cool! Latin is such a great language, too bad it's dead!

I actually enjoy my Latin class, I can't translate for beans, but I still find it fascinating.

BTW, I'll probably take 4 years of it. The reason I took the class was becuase I wanted to understand more of Ancient History, and also read old manuscripts.

Also, do you know I'm bilingual, I speak Portugese. It's my ethnicity.

Cool! Is that a variation of Spanish? Excuse my ignorance.

Well you could say the two resemble each other... but there are a fair few differences.

I took spanish for a couple of years with a portugese friend, he pointed out all the differences to me, including dialect etc...

Actually Randall, you are on the right track. Portugal is attached to Spain, and Brazil also speaks portugese.

My family is from the Azores islands in the Atlantic ocean. My parents came to the United States in the 70s. However, I am an American I was born here.

The Azores islands, are believed by some people, to have been left behind after a good chunk of Atlantis went down. They are small dots on the map.
