Topic: Is It Ethical to Influence Others with Magic?

I'm wondering, and my primary sense is that it isn't. By influencing someone's decisions in anything, your are taking away from their free will. You can do the same thing by trying to tell someone what to do, but when you do that they are aware of it and can counteract it intentionally. With magic, they are unaware. It's a form of manipulation.
Guess what I'm thinking about here, people.
Love magic.
It's never worked for me so far, but I keep trying anyway (I'm that desperate  ). If it does work someday, will it be ethical?------------------

QoS......magic is a beautiful art, BUT it must never be misused. Manipulation is very much counter-Universal law. When you try to manipulate, it: a. either won't work, as you have expressed, or b. it will blow up in your face with dire consequences! Be careful.I know of a young man that did a love spell for a girl named Theresa, that he was wild about. The spell backfired and Theresa hated him, BUT a girl named Crystal became obsessed with him...to the point of trying to commit suicide, twice and stalking him and destroying his property. She eventually stopped, when the spell was reversed by a wise old Voo-Doo woman. So, my Sweet, be careful. Perhaps prayer and meditation will serve your purpose better. Turn over your desires to the Universe and allow the Universe to work it's magic for you. ------------------

You can ask for Love, but you must not target anyone in particular, for if you do, you won't like what you get. ------------------

Greetings...I am in agreement with Randall, that it is well permissible to do a spell for Love in general, but that if you have a specific someone in mind, then in my mind that becomes Black Magic. Now this is not to say that you cannot ask for a SPECIFIC type of person, or certain traits that you would require in a relationship. To know exactly what you want in a person or from a relationship is actually IDEAL when casting out for Love. When the natural Force, that we call magic is utilized to bend another's will, one has stepped on to the Left-hand Path, as it were. Further... would you really want someone that you caused to love you through the use of magic? Just a thought... In the Light...
A P.S. On that note, I have a funny anecdote about a wicca-wannabee friend of mine. She made a love potion that she was conspiring to put in the drink of her intended. Well, the long and short of it was that he probably only got one sip of the drink, and then for some "mysterious reason" almost all of his circle of friends and acquaintances "just had to have a sip of this drink". Upshot, she never got the guy, and no, no one else even showed a glimmer of interest that night.

someone once told me when u pray dont u use flowers n candles and incense???
then why make such a big deal of spells they are also a type of prayer....
i dont know till where i agree with it but it makes u wanna think besides....i think universe has a plan if u do the spell...u r meant to do it!!!

I see spells as energy/visualization sent out to the universe. The results are unexpected at times, when one isn't clear as to the intent. I agree with Randall, a spell to bring love into ones life is good. A spell to have a specific person come to you, well that depends on you. I've seen people do those spells, only to have the enchanted lover snap out of the lovesickness evenutally. I believe thats what those spells do, bring illusion not real love. IP: Logged |
