Has anyone read it yet? I ordered a used one off of Amazon a couple nights ago. I called my library and there are 72 people on the waiting list. Yeah, right, like I'm going to wait 5 years.

I haven't received it yet.

Anyhow, please don't give anything away if you've read it, but tell me if it's good or if you liked it, etc.

Thank you ever so much

What's it basically about?

A girl's life in ancient Italy. Not sure if it takes place in Florence, I forget. I think she wants to paint, be an artist.

You could probably get a synopsis at Amazon if you do a search on the book.

It's been in the bestsellers lists.

Did you ever read the Da Vinci Code?

Just in case anyone is interested I finished the book last night. Although it was much different than what I expected, overall it was very moving, very descriptive of ancient Florence, Italy, the religion and era. The story was good and shocking as well.

Nephthys, if the library is in a bigger system of let's say, at least a couple of other libraries and they all share resources, that will mean that you are the 73rd on the list on more that one copies of the book.

Not knowing what library you are talking about I really can't draw conclusions, but I'm sure that 5 years is a slight exaggeration.

Not trying to pick you apart, just to give some credit to the libraries that despite their ever shrinking budget try to stay on top and buy as many books as possible.

Dear Yin,

I was only joking, and exaggerating, yes!

Funny, I never come to this forum anymore and just clicked over and saw your reply!
