I need help because since I logged on to LL I can't seem to get any work done. I'm just so very fascinated by everything. I'm really impressed by all the data and all the threads that I just want to keep constantly checking in. This is a wonderful site you guys, but don't any of you work?

Ditto Gia,

I feel the same way! I'm new too, and just can't get enough of Linda Land.

I'm starting a new job this week - so I won't be able to stay on LL all day now.

Booooo

Gia all I do is work, but it is a labor of love and gives me time to pop in 3 or 4 times a day

May God/Dess bless all those who choose to share a part of themselves here despite leading very busy lives. Especially the Mods (Juniperb and Ra most of all--not to take anything away from our other Mods--but these two have been our strongest anchors).

The reason I found LL is because I have a job as Manager of the complex I live in. For the first time in my life, I have a job where I am my own boss. It's great! I nap when I need to nap, Read if I feel like it, etc. The owner Lives in CA. and as long as I turn in the rent, everything's kool with him. He often calls me and we spend hours on the phone talking mostly about anything but work. Great Guy! I am very greatfull and I wish the same for everyone.

Sorry to dent the general hilarity, but it would be a big help to those of us who don't have unlimited time at the computer, if people could at least make an effort to post in the right place, to find out if another thread has already kicked off the subject they want to talk about, for instance we have at least five threads on time travel all over the place.

randall - i have a friend who calls chocolate "vitamins for women" - guess i'll have to broaden that definition!

gia - i work from home on my own schedule these days so i've been able to post a lot more than when i first found lindaland - yay! i agree it's a great community. i've noticed after looking around other boards with a similar theme how much this one feels like home...

Maklhouf, I`d guess different knowflakes put the subject where it fits their perspective of the subject.

Don`t let a difference like that take from your input and enjoying Lindaland

I work fulltime, plus I write at night. But I have computer access at work, so I can peek into LL now and then.

Ditto the kudos to Juni and Ra.

I'm addicted too, I find all the threads fascinating but don't make too many replies because I feel in awe of how far along their individual paths people are.I think there are some really special people on here who help me to spiral to new depths of thought.

Thank you all of you

Well I'm a student! That pretty much says it all! I'm doing temporary office work at the moment which consists of answering the phone every 10 minutes and nothing else!

Orchidspirit, you should post as often as you feel like- everyone's take on something is different and interesting-I'd like to hear from you more!

A couple of people have asked about the search function. I understand that there are privacy issues there. I also understand that people should not be inhibited from posting whatever they want wherever they want. But couldn't the moderators do a bit of housekeeping? Maybe move a thread into the correct category from time to time, or amalgamate two short threads on the same subject?

What is this about the search function and "privacy issues"? I tend to think that if you post something to a public forum like Lindaland, you must not be too worried about keeping it a secret...?

And Gia, I find myself in the same boat as you. Especially when knuckleheads want to play on my natural love of debate and draw me into useless arguments. I have to keep telling myself that there are more constructive uses for my time.

I work either afternoons, until midnight, or days. On my 'afternoon shift' (such as today) I come on here and post throughout the day. On my obsessive days, I can be on here forever, just wandering... Others, I check in. Depends where the chitlin's are, and whether they are happy. I find it hard to chat, cuz I always have to wander away and attend to one thing or another, but posting is great, as I can walk away, and come back later.
My Hubby has noticed that LL is a bit of an obsession for me, and has called me on it, and complained. So I am spending less time here, sorting through my priorities. I tell him that you are my friends, and I like 'reading and hearing from you and sharing'. LL leaves an impression though. Oftentims the things that come up are tangled into my daily life here. Lots of similarities. I find that interesting.

Yeah, I understand the obsession. This is a great place!

paras, re: privacy, there are not many forums like this where people can just come and be needy and ask for help. It is not the same as a regular discussion forum because it gets very personal and people can be identified. I would love a search function, but I understand why it might not be a good idea. But something could be done to help busy people. How about links to related threads at the end of every thread?

We have a search function. It's just having technical issues, because the Forums are so large.
