Just a side note: The guy who started the boon-spending sensation (Uri Geller) was a fraud who used sleight of hand.------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

There are some skeptics who claim that, but there are other people who argue the opposite. I don't think you would know until you've experienced it with your own eyes, but I think it's possible. Besides Uri Gellar there are some pretty legitimate people out there. So does anyone have a clue? -StarLover IP: Logged |

I don't think Uri Gellar is a fraud, I think skeptics just used him the most as the object for their reasoning. Many people claim they can do the same thing, and not all of them are trying to fool us.-Starlover IP: Logged |

I 100 percent believe it can be done, but The Amazing Randi (a magician) showed that Geller was using simple magic tricks (scientists are not trained to spot trickery). ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." Some "miracles" can be easily explained using current science. Spoon-bending such as Uri Geller does can be mundanely reproduced using an alloy called "memory metal" which automatically bends into its former shape when heated (for example, by holding the handle in your fist for a few moments). Hi Star lover, the answer's a bit late but here it is anyway. IP: Logged |

I plan on giving it a shot at some point. Philbird & Gia provided some good links in UC. I believe it is totally possible, just check out Philly's pics in her album! Whoa! Have you tried it yet, Starlover? IP: Logged |

Man, those spoons were bent like crazy!------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. Luis is correct about the heat aspect. When I bent those, I was thinking energy and the heat came with it. Not really miracles. I don't know what the spoons were made of. IP: Logged |

Hey, don't be so cynical and disbelieving. I obtained an instructional video and tried it. No gimmics or special equip. There is suddenly an emptying of thought and the spoon feels like a piece of string and can be bent into all shapes without any force. The shock hardens the mind and the object again becomes metal. Friends and family have tried and experienced it. There is a common tendency to find excuses for things we do not undertstand. Life is a wonderful and magical journey which many of us have no understanding about. IP: Logged |

I'm not here nor there on the skeptic issue, I also dont know anything about this Uri Gellar person, but is it at all a possibility of the "slight of hand" thing being seeded into the public as a conspiracy to make people think they can't do it?IP: Logged |

By the way, I had forgotten to mention yesterday that I had bought some cheap spoons to practice on, but I still am trying to shake off the "cant do" i think because I feel I need to prepare myself somehow, but I know in my heart, truly, because I can literaly feel it, that I can and always have been able to do it... see what you all started with this thread, now im gonna have to do it. Also there is a thread somewhere in here about people right here in LL that have bent them. IP: Logged |

I tried fork-you.com's way of doing it to no avail, but I still believe it can be done, would love to hear what you have to say about it peajie. Also, I tried bending them with my hands and they are tough! But the spoon felt really warm after I did the light ball meditation, but not enough to bend I guess. ------------------ "...and dreams, don't ever forget, are the first step in manifesting wishes into reality" -Linda Goodman IP: Logged |

Hi SunChild. Thanks for telling me about "fork-you.com" . That saves me a lot of explaining. My video was from a PK party. Each time you try it it becomes easier, until eventually the spoon/fork will bend when you hold it still with only one hand. However there is one important correction to the .com instructions about the ball of light. Think of something that is most powerful to you. (a volocano, atomic explosion )and in you mind shrink it down to a while/blue ball of light. Then imagine the whole ball entering the back of your head, travelling down to the shoulders and slowly down the arms through the hands into the spoon. What you are infact doing is focusing the non physical power of QI (incorrectly called chi). The shouting is to energise the mind, and become unnecessary after a few successes. IP: Logged |

SHOUT quietly...But what is wrong with being crazy ? It is only the "crazy" people who have changed the world or improved humanity. IP: Logged |

I'm glad to hear that it is effective, although i'm sure it's just my subconcious letting me think it may not be. I only am worried because I really already do seem crazy, and I don't want any complaints that I am. IP: Logged |
