I'm looking for book recommendations (In the forming stage of building a library).

What is/are your favorite "new age" book/s, and why?

What other supplies would you expect to find in such a library? (IE: Tarot cards, Pendulum)

Well let's see.
"The Holographic Universe" It's quantum physics made easy. A nice combo of Physics and Metaphysics! And a freaking great book!
I usually try to buy books where the subject can be approached logically and theoretically.
Like books on crystals and stones. I have books on their metaphysical properties and scientific properties.

Linda Goodman's anything (of course)
Born to Be Together by Terry Lamb (synastry and relationships)
Buddhist Astrology by Shaneman and Angel (uplifting and spiritual--albeit somewhat detached)
Neptune by Liz Greene (very good--lots of info--not just formula)
Dreaming True by Robert Moss (helpful for dream processes)
The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene (sciency but interesting)
Pluto Vol. II by Jeffrey Green [many greens] (indepth look at pluto)
Astrology, Karma, adn Transformation by Stephen Arroyo (my favorite--very upbeat and accurate)
The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need (good starting point--very general)
Easy Enchantments by Lexa Rosean (fun and simple)
The Element Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells by Illes (soo many spells!! and some history too)
Tarot for the Green Witch by Ann Moura (Moura is so positive in her explanations--I love this book)

(non-new age)
The Rosy Crucifixtion trilogy by Henry Miller
Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller
Tropic of Capricorn by Henry Miller
Slaughterhouse Five by Vonnegut
Welcome to the Monkey House by Vonnegut
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Nine Stories by Salinger
Anything Poe

And getting around to reading Hammer of the Gods by Steven Davis

I looovvvvvvveee books!!!! I know those last ones aren't New Age but they're good reads anyway.

No collection would be complete withoyut Star Signs and Gooberz.

To start any self project you want to be at your best. That's why I recommend

The Essence of Self-Healing
by Petrene Soames

the much more expensive but really worth it QiGong coursebook & DVD that you can get at http://www.learningstrategies.com/Qigong/Home.asp by Chunyi Lin

& The Chiropractor's Health Book : Simple, Natural Exercises for Relieving Headaches, Tension, and Back Pain
by Leonard Mcgill

Then you'll need to keep yourself safe:

psychic self defense - there are many good ones, so I'd recommend you read the samples and get a good feel for what you would be comfortable with. I'd say the Llewlyn's one is a popular choice.

If you want an easy but great book on Tarot Cards, this is it:

Super Tarot: New Techniques for Improving Your Tarot Reading
by Sasha Fenton

And what would you do with a book without the cards? I recommend the Rider Waite Deck. I've tried lots of them (even bought the super expensive tarot card encyclopedia that listed all cards proven to have ever existed...some were photos of just half the cards since they were discovered burnt) and found this simple but beautiful deck to give the best readings.

I recently came across this, and it has made me appreciate everything so much more. You'll be amazed at the photos in this book, and will never drink a glass of water without talking to it ever again! (Oh yeah, after I started talking to the water while filling the ice cubes, I've been getting icicles going UPWARDS from my trays - amazing. My husband is still perplexed) Prepare to be awed:

The Hidden Messages in Water
by Masaru Emoto, & David A
Thayne (translator)

Interested in Astral Projection? Then get this:

Astral Projection Kit by Denning & Phillips

Any book by Israel Regardie would be a good addition to your library, as well as Light Emerging & Hands of Light by Barbara Ann Brennan.

The Celestial Bar by Tom Youngholm is great - in the form of a story, but oh so very true for so many.

Soul Mates and Twin Flames by Elizabeth Clare Prophet - if you're at all interested in the topic, because it is a REALLY good book, with some advice on how to get ready for your twin.

And a great MUST-HAVE book is:
The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P Hall. It's a very expensive book, but is so full of information. A cheaper version would be the paperback one (unless you get a used hardcover edition)

That's all I can remember now, so hope you like them!

Uh, I just went online and found THE most amazing thing ever - if you want to sample Manly Hall's book, then click here and read the ONLINE VERSION! Of course it's not as pretty and the artwork is really small here, but it's good enough to see! http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/sta/index.htm

Plus, if you want the whole deal, then check out their CD offer, which includes SOOOO many good books (including the Tibetan book Of The Dead, which is well known to be THE oldest book known) then find it here...with the obvious advantage of being able to read the books before you consider buying the CD. I put the link where the contents are shown, so have fun. I myself am more interested in the Esoteric portion, the Grimoires, and some of the "by country" texts they've included. They even have the Tao-Te-Ching! All I can say at this point is.....ENJOY! http://www.sacred-texts.com/cdshop/cdcat.htm

Any of Starhawks books but especially these ones by her:
"The Spiral Dance"
"The Earth Path"
"Truth or Dare"
"The Fifth Sacred Thing" (It's a novel but has lots of metaphysical stuff in it..)

I also want to second the mention of The Element Encyclopedia.. It's chock full of interesting tidbits!

Also, Sabian Symbols by Dane Rudyar.
