I am researching "Primary"s, and I have posted topics regarding Primary Question (long back) and Primary Assumption (recently) and only a few days ago, I started thinking about Primary Fear. Many years ago, I had read a novel titled "Fear is the key" (by Alistair MacLean). The book was not discussing psychology but the title seemed to have a message. Is it possible that there exists a Primary Fear, that had to be discovered and overcome, before the fears in day to day life are defeated? Is it necessary to put Primary Fear first? And Primary Fear is nothing other than Death. It takes a lot to defeat Primary Fear - the source of all inner failures. Those who experience NDE (Near Death Experience) lose all fear just because they have worked out on Primary Fear. One may even attain Immortality, but my view is that overcoming primary fear is even more important than attaining immortality. IP: Logged |

I'm pretty sure looking foolish unintentionally is a Primary Fear. At least it's one of mine. IP: Logged |

What's also interesting is that the first existential fear is birth, hence birth and death connected. Are we afraid of dying or being born again? Or is that we fear being alone?IP: Logged |

Good question, Quinnie. For me, it's a fear of rebirth. No, wait: Its a fear of being judged after death and then rebirth. IP: Logged |
