I have beautiful memories of my proms. At the Senior Prom, my date had requested the song "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole for me, and it was the last song we danced to before we left the dance.IP: Logged |

Hi QueenofSheeba,From my own experience, I had a grand time. It was the best and most sentimental experience I've had, not only because of my date, but also because I got to spend it with my close friends living in a wonderland that was sELF created. My best friend overheard a secret conversation where Bob said he wanted to ask me out (Amy). But he was too shy to because he thought I would say No and really want to go with someone else. He was expressing a lot of self-doubt and just about nearly gave up the idea, my dear friend overheard. I was in total shock because I never would have thought someone that handsome would want to go to a special dance with me. (I am going to look for the prom picture and post it here!) So I waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . . I began feeling You know those teenage feelings of insecurity. So my friend said for me to just ask him I was so nervous. It was Government class and he sat two seats away from me. My friend kept prodding me to "ask!" My stomach was turning and my heart was going at 150 beats per minute. I kept holding my breath and thought I was going to pass out from sheer nervousness. I couldn't do it. I couldn't turn around. I opened a notebook, scribbled down: "Bob, Would you like to go to the Senior Ball with me? Amy" Ripped the bottom half off in crazed mania, folded it up tiny . . . and threw it at him! [As I am writing this, I am feeling that rush and excitment all over again!]. He wrote back in his beautiful handwriting: "Yes, Amy. I would love to go to the dance with you. I was actually going to ask you. Bob" Eeek That's how it started. And I still have that note! He surprised me by letting me pick the restaurant, and him doing the reservations. He let me bring along 15 of our friends to the restaurant He washed away all my worries of how were going to get there besides our Math teacher volunteering to dress up in a Tux as a vanpool chauffer . . . and ordered a limo instead as a suprise. After dinner, a whole night of dancing (it was mostly the two us on the dance floor, most everyone else was a wallflower!), a sugar rush at Denny's, he invited to the whole brood over to his house. Is it normal to bring 15 friends along to your pre- prom dinner? In Hispanic cultures girls get to do all kinds of exciting things when they turn 15 (so I learned in Spanish class ), I wish I got to! I love partying. Is that allowed for guys? silly me, of course, you could hardly have a one- gender party... IP: Logged |

Hi QueenofSheeba,I don't care for normal Besides, we had some gay and lesbian friends in the mix who didn't have formal dates but he and I wanted them to go the dance, so we invited them with us. You can do whatever makes you happy sweets. Any kind of party you want. My roommate and his boyfriend had a New Year's Eve party at his partner's Napa Valley ranch, methinks it was one gender. I found a few pics and scanned them. But I am too shy to post them here. If you'd like, I can e-mail them to you! Let me know what you think. Aphrodite IP: Logged |

If you're afraid of being embarrassed, please don't be, I won't laugh at you or make a mental note you're ugly or anything! Don't be shy! Beauty is more than skin deep! But if you really can't, my adress is available for the next day or two.. IP: Logged |

Aphrodite- I found your picture! Just one prblem: are you the second person from the right or the left? In any event, I don't know what you have to act so embarrassed about. Everyone in that picture is beautiful! IP: Logged |

Probably won't go this year. I'm only a freshman, I don't have a girlfriend or a date, plus dances at my school aren't really that fun. :Peeking:------------------ Hello everybody! I used to be QueenofSheeba and then I was Apollo and now I am QueenofSheeba again (and I'm a guy in case you didn't know)! IP: Logged |
