Hmmm, Taurus and Libra; one of my best friends is a Taurus, and I happen to be a Libra myself, so I have relevant experience. Do you know where your moons are?

Most astrology books I've seen say doesn't work well because libra's a party type and taurus is a home- body, and also because Librans are big on communication whereas Taurus isn't so talkative, so I guess the ideal ascendant for you would be an Air sign and the ideal ascendant for him would be Earth or Water... but I'm no expert.

Is this a romantic relationship or just friends?

Yes, I can sympathize, I know a Leo who at various times has asked me out, been friends with me, and ignored me completely. So our relationship is at the moment as friends, but could at anytime go anywhere.

Taurus and Libra can work out nicely, they share Venus their ruler so while there will be differences ~ As QueenofSheeba says Libra is more extroverted whereas Taurus tends towards introversion,~ underneath values are similar
The rest of the chart and free will are important to remember as well, my boyfriend and I (two years) have sun signs and mars signs squaring each other, as well as a few other notoriously difficult aspects but it hasn't kept us from wanting to be with each other and things working out.
