I can't take school anymore! Everyday when I'm in school I feel like all the life is being sucked right out of me. The energy is depressing the homework is tedious, boring, and a complete waste of precious time. In a subtle way school is like a prison and there is no way of getting out. It's a crumbling institution. It's also completely stressful. All I want is for summer to arrive and get the hell out of there.P.S. I just needed to vent. March is bad because there are no day-offs. -StarLover IP: Logged |

Oh my dear deity, Star, I know exactly what you mean!! There's that awful time between spring break and summer that is a complete dead zone... it's like two solid months of school. Horrible.Consider being "sick" for a day or two, and if that fails, just tell your parents you really need some time off for mental health. I hope they understand. ------------------ Hello everybody! You read my mind. I was thinking about taking a day off this week, because there aren't any for another month, and to my surprise there is a little snow storm brewing up in the sky. But if the snow doesn't work out in my favor than I'll still have a field trip on friday to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. So I'm happy either way. P.S. Tommorow is St. Patricks Day I've got to find something green to wear. -StarLover IP: Logged |

I know what you mean. I like school, my classes are all pretty interesting, but there's just so much to do. I don't get that much sleep, and I don't get that much alone time to cool off and relax for a few minutes. I'm always tired. Weekends and vacations are like GOLD to me now. This is my first year of high school, and it's really a lot more time-consuming than middle school, but I've gotten used to it.------------------ "Out of your depth or not, it's up to you whether you sink or swim." The stress here has been so hard. We are going to be streem lined next year, so we're under pressure for results this year so we can access the options we want. "S" had always been the more scientific way, the hardest & in most people's opinion, the most prestigious. I always thought I would do it because I had the level. The teachers always said, "your work is good, you've the level to do S" you can imagine the mentality. The thing is, Ive only started seriously thinking about it now & it turns out, I don't want to do S. Even if I'm good enough, I hate the subjects! Why waste 2 or 3 years of my life studying stuff I don't even like?! So I'm changing direction before it's too late. Too many students are breaking their backs to get into this section, wether they like it or not, it's all about prestige! Well no, I won't do it!! I'm going into L, which is more art, history & language orientated. I can do philosophy & all sorts in there. I relate so much more to those subjects. I'm sick of the whole S thing, everyone thinks that people who go into L are failed S students... I hate those stereotypes. L is just as good as S. For me, it's more rewarding. I can really excel in any subject if I LIKE it. If I enjoy it, I work ; if I don't, I do nothing.Sorry just needed to vent In the end it's OUR futur & OUR life we're working for, we have the right to choose the path that fits us the most.

In a couple of weeks I'm supposed to start a clay sculpture class that will last for an hour and a half for five days. It's so artistic I can't take it (please understand that I already have four hours of art every week). I'd rather miss the class and sleep in.------------------ Hello everybody! StarLover you take the words out of my mouth with your first two sentences. I do think that it has to do with the vibe of schools being concentrated on one part of the brain... sometimes even art classes . Tired of following someone else's path eh? IP: Logged |

Yea, what in hell is the left brain doing in an art class... I know. I'm like the best photographer in my school, well at least I try to be I've spent +800 hours in the darkroom... I've most likely learned the most. I even knew more about photography than the teacher did. I'm sorry If all that sounded egotistical, but i was ****** cuz she gave me a D for a grade... All because I didn't flower her incompitent assignments. Instead I went out and did more advanced things. I still got a D. I've even had my own art show... still Got a DDDDD.... ARGHHHH... I really dislike school. The one obstical in my life that is utterly pointless... If any of you can relate?Randall III IP: Logged |
