Anyone else as excited as I am!!!??? Aparantly quite a few naughty bookshops have 'accidently' sold some HP books: 'Potter Book Mistakenly Sold in New York A New York shop accidentally sold a copy of the hotly anticipated Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince prior to Saturday's stringent release date - and have ordered the customer to return it. Mandy Muldoon and her son Sylum Mastropaolo, nine, saw the JK Rowling books for sale at the pharmacy and immediately bought it. But store manager Christine Ekblom is convinced this was the only copy sold, and quickly removed the embargoed publications from public reach. She explains, "They were pulled off an hour after they were put on the shelves. It was a mistake." Sylum's step-father Mike Muldoon says, "We're going to do the right thing. We don't want to ruin it for other kids and take away from the experience of everyone reading it together." Kyle Good, a spokeswoman for Scholastic publishing, promises Sylum his own copy along with a gift pack as a gesture of gratitude. Publishers have attempted to keep the latest release in the fantasy saga top secret - but they were foiled last Thursday when fourteen books were inadvertently sold in Canada. A judge commanded the customers to stay silent about the book, and forbade them to sell it or even look at it before Saturday. ' Also reeeeally lookin forward to the next film!! IP: Logged |

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and wasn't able to go to the midnight release tonight because my grandmother refuses to drive at that hour. So now I'm trying desperately to distract myself from going on Harry Potter message boards and spoiling the whole book for myself. So far I've watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail, parts of the Beatles Anthology, have paced around my room a bit, read bits of Order of the Phoenix, etc. Still have about four hours to wait!IP: Logged |

I absolutely loved it, Sun_Scorpion. My favorite after Prisoner of Azkaban. The ending was so incredibly incredible. Gah, what a powerhouse. And Voldemort's backstory, and Snape, and Draco Malfoy, and Slughorn... the only thing that I didn't like about this book was the romance. It all seemed a bit awkward, besides the tension between Ron and Hermione.I was just completely blown away by the ending. I have to admit, made me cry pretty hard. IP: Logged |

How many copies were sold the first day?------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. Hi everybody!Millions and millions and zillions. My step-mom's bookstore sold about 300 copies in two days, and this is in an area with fewer than a thousand inhabitants. It will probably make the difference between solvency and going out of business for them. I read it in about 18 hours and didn't really like it. Maybe I'm growing out of them, or maybe they're getting worse. I don't know. No. 4 was the last one I liked, since I feel that they've gone downhill. ------------------ Hello everybody! It is, and those were only the pre-ordered copies. They've gotten another batch, fewer this time I think, to sell to walk-ins. There's probably one per househould. [Imagine J.K. Rowling rubbing her hands together and cackling gleefully] ------------------ Hello everybody! I read the book yesterday... I tried so hard to hold back my tears. Then I just had to go down stairs and see my family right afterwards and then I cried. My mom laughed at me. My sister tried to make me feel better. And my dad just kept asking "Which one is he?". Quite annoying. I was really mad too. I didnt like the flirting and all of the romance between the characters.. but it was bound to happen. I just can't wait for the next one.IP: Logged |
