i had a dream that i remember from this morning and am interested in what it may mean.

my roommate wrote to me a letter on a piece of brown paper bag. he wrote it in black ink with a felt pen. the words were hard to read, and the letters were messily written. the paper bag had a folded crease in the middle, and long cuts up and down, like he had tried to shove it down a paper shredder and it didn't go all the way through.

then i woke up. i don't remember what was written because i was having a hard time with the handwriting.

To me, this dream clearly indicates, in the most general sense, that there is something "unsaid" between you and another, either your roommate or someone with some similar characteristic. It could be a secret, something mysterious, or perhaps something more unconscious. There is also the question - who is holding back or keeping a secret? You or the other?

The dream seems to suggest that the other wishes to communicate something, but is not doing so. But it is also possible that it is you who is withholding the "message." Which is it?

The letter suggests a message - either about or from the other entity.

The black ink suggests secrets/mystery/unconscious - any of these.

The piece of bag also suggests secrets/mystery/unconscious/hidden - any of these.

Being messily written and apparently attempted to be shredded suggest that the message, or information, or secret, is being intentionally kept from the awareness of the would-be recipient. But also suggests that perhaps the intention IS to communicate, but for some reason there is difficulty with expression, or difficulty with perception of the message (or both).

The only clue to the nature of the "message" that I can find - and this is a stretch - is that it could be of an emotional nature (the "felt" pen). I am curious as to whether or not this symbol, or the others, have any relevance.

wow, interesting stuff. after what you both have said, i think the dream stated to me a few suspiscions i'd been having about my roommate, but nothing absolutely tangible has come to surface. so, in a sense, with no proof, my suspiscions come off as mere confusion. *sighs*
