O.K. Real quick A friend at work had a dream and I wanted your input. First off before she went to bed, her sister called and left her a message saying that she needed to ask her a kind of important question.

In her dream she was asleep and she woke up. She thought she heard a noise so she went to look. It was dark and she looked into the garage and her car was gone. She went to look further for her car in the garage and realized the door was locked. She could see a duck(like a stuffed toy duck. She thought it was dark yellow or orange with maybe blue pants. The hari was sticking up) hanging upside down in the garage. She thought that she had been robbed so she went back upstairs to see if her jewelry was missing. She doesn't think she ever looked for it but remembers seeing some on her dresser. Then she saw another duck(like the pokemon one...??)upside down on her doorknob(she thinks)....(all this is in the bedroom) she is then very afraid that someone has broken in so she locks her bedroom door and calls 911. She thinks someone answers. That is all she remembers.
The next day her sister calls and asks if she had left some jewelry with her....she immediately says no.(She's very sure that she does not have it.) One last note....a few years ago she lost some of her own jewelry and is not sure if it was stolen or she just moved it cause of people coming over. She still has boxes unpacked in her garage. Her sister too is not sure if her stuff might have been taken or if she just hid it from herself. Any thoughts?

It seems like it's time to "duck in" and solve this problem with the missing jewellery...The places to look are obviously in the garage or in the bedroom.

That is why the dream intrigued me so. For some reason the duck jumped out at me. I thought that if it did not point to where it was maybe it pointed to who took it.

This may be an over-analysis, but it the only alternative I see other than what has already been mentioned.

An awakening to unconscious material (dark/garage) which does not fit into her current conscious make-up (car mising). In this context, the ducks could also symbolize unconscious material/energy that is counter to her current belief structure (upside-down). Glimpsing this strange material causes her to feel as if something precious (jewelry) - her beliefs - are being "stolen" from her.

Both the garage and bedroom scenes have similar symbologies. The bedroom itself can symbolize a need to get in touch with yourself, dropping the face we present to society, and also the subconscious/unconscious (we sleep there). The doorknob can symbolize a beginning aspect of self transformation. Locking the bedroom door could represent the shutting out of the threatening (911) unconscious material that has been presented.

Besides all of that, I would look for a duck, or perhaps "duck down" in the garage or bedroom to find that jewelry!

Let us know what the dreamer thinks of all of this!
