I dreamt I was going to have my cheek tooth exctracted. I have all of my teeth in my mouth so that dream kind of surprised me.
So, in my dream i went to a dentist,he said I need a tooth extract, he put me on the chair, injected some sedative in my mouth and he started to chat with other patients until he completely forgot about me. I was waiting for 2 hours for him to take out my tooth but he didn`t get back to me.

what is to dream about your teeth and having them extracted ? i recall i read about that in one of those dream books but can`t quite remember what is the meaning.

Have you been put in a situation that makes you speechless? Or a situation where you're not allowed to give your opinion? Is someone making you "shut up"? (Giving you sedative). The dentist certainly doesn't treat you with much respect - is there a person behaving like that "in real life"?

About dream books: Freud connected tooth dreams to masturbation...I wonder how he managed to make that connection???!!

Hi Fajita and Stella,

gotta check some dream books because I am curiouse now.
LoL Stella @ Freud and his interpretaion..
me is being way too horny recently, so Freud might be right, althought according to him-even washing the dishes has sexual meaning

Bissie, take a look at that guy's chart...
Washing the dishes is VERY sexual. The sponge, the water...don't you get it? Eehhh...me neither...

from what i have learned about dream symbolism (from private sources), teeth symbolize our closest relations---family, spouse, partner, etc. a permanent fix on our life that does not change, except when they rot, fall out, become damaged etc. etc.

i sense this has something to do with the spouse/partner you are with right now. the symbolism just seems so telling. you are waiting for something to end, or rather . . . someone else to do it for you.

Aphrodite,

and how right you are

I do want to end something (or should I say- someone) but seems I wish that to be done without my personal efforts.
hmm, how interesting

thanks as always

Fajita,
expect a tooth dream for yourself soon
I hope the dentist will take care of your tooth though, unlike mine

Hello Bissie
Whenever I have a tooth dream I always have something emotionally nagging at me. I agree with Aphrodite in that this emotional upset is with someone close to you...and you might feel anxiety about expressing your true feelings, not wanting to hurt the other person but not knowing how to express what is hurting YOU.
Not sure if I am making sense but teeth are a part of our mouth and the dentist symbolizes someone who makes out tooth ache feel better. I feel like the dentist is YOU and you are trying to calm yourself first (he sedates you and leaves you alone), feel relaxed so that you will know HOW to express what it is you want to say! Shows me you are still not ready to say what is on your mind but it is definitely something you want to fix asap so that is why you want the dentist to help you.
When the dentist leaves you sitting there you're feeling ignored and that is the part of you that YOU are ignoring in the conscious state...I think you need to think alone with your true feelings and come up with how you will resolve this so that you are not in pain anymore.

Sending you a big hug to help you

Love

Mystique, you are so cute, thanks for the warm hugs
you know, you just expressed exactly how I feel, I am starting to believe in dream interpretaions. I really want to tell how I feel (to someone) but still cannot decide whether I should or not or to just end it up without any words.
hhmmm, need more time I guess until the dentist decides to pull it up

again thanks everyone for your help.

Love and hugs

you know..when I was laid off from my job this past September (I have since found another job) I had a dream one night that my teeth fell out...it's strange becasue I'm what you would call "anal retentive" about my teeth...I'd never had a dream about them until then...but anyway..I think it's strange because it happened when I lost my job...but I didn't have the dram UNTIL I had found another job..but I hadn't started it yet..so maybe it's symbolic of endings and beginnings...all I know is that in the dream, I was FREAKING OUT when the teeth begand to fall out and in my dream I was trying to glue them back in my mouth with super glue HAHA...
