My family moved house. As usual I chose the room with one bed in it so I could have my own space.
I went out for a cycle on my bike and realised that I was cycling down a very familiar street that I used to walk down every day as a child. When I got to the end of the street I stopped at the crossroads and a dog came out of one of the houses and jumped onto my leg. But when it jumped onto my leg it attached to my clothing and got imeshed in my trousers, even though the dog was still very much alive it was stuck to my leg.
The owners of thd dog told me that this kind of situation had been happening recently for the dog alot and that the only way to remove him was to take off my trousers and detach him from my clothing.
So I went home and did that but on my way I was very very careful not to hurt him and often had to remind myself that he was there so I wouldn't make any abrupt movements.
I got home and remived him from my clothing. The dog was fine but I was sorry to give him back to his owners because by now I gotten attached to him in a different way and I would miss him.

That was the dream I had last night. Anyone got any kind of analysis for it?
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
Thank you.

Hi Quinnie!

I do not have time to type up my thoughts right now, but I did want to ask you about the dog.

There are many possible meanings for a symbolic dog - loyalty, unconditional love, caring, pampering, aggresiveness, guarding, security, etc.

What do you feel about this dog?

To me, it seems to represent some sort of energy from your childhood, either something you lacked, or something you had a great deal of - such as love or security.

???

Much of the meaning of this dream hinges on the meaning of the dog.

Hopefully I can get back here tomorrow.

Ok I think the dog was aggressive. Firstly I felt that it was attacking me and then I realised that after he attached himself to me he didn't even move let alone bite, he was still ( I think it was a male dog).
I would associate dogs with attacks I think but have been recently changing my mind and seeing dogs in a new way. When I was young I used to have a fear of dogs but now I'm thinking differently.
I really got attached to the dog as much as it was attached to me.
I think I'm more or less understanding it now.
Dogs maybe represent the male anima (is it anima)of myself and my relationship with men in general.
wow I think I know the meaning now.
At a crossroads... a cycle that I have been going through since childhood. I am letting it go now I believe but just had one more go of it before I made a decision at the crossroads...
Ra I think I'm letting go of alot of things. I've felt huge relief today.
Thank u. If u have any more insight I'd love to hear it.

Hi Quinnie!

Thank you for your patience.

It seems you have the general meaning figured out, but I will go ahead and write some of what I have in my notes anyway. I will be repeating some of what you said.

This dream could have something to do with change (moved), perhaps in your subconscious (bed) or your "comfort zone". It is suggested that you are progressing under your own power in balance (bicycle) and relating with something from your past, from your childhood (childhood street), and as you said, coming to a crossroads anent "a cycle that I have been going through since childhood". The dog could represent an energy, an instinctual energy, that caused fear within you as a child and which is either affecting your "balance" or is something you need in order to maintain balance (leg).

So, there seems to be some need or desire for the energies/emotions brought about by the connection with this dog. It attaches to you, and you become attached to it. Is there some relationship, perhaps new, that elicits these feelings in waking life?

I suppose the basic theme is overcoming this fear or anxiety you have so that you may get more in touch with certain emotions that you need in order to grow.

Does this fit with your thoughts?

Absolutely does fit my thoughts Ra.
I'm having a realisation about alot of things regarding male realtionships that I think come from my relationship with my dad.
I'm trying to break a cycle but it's kinda scary facing up to some things.

I think anger has alot to do with it, I've always been afraid of anger or anything instinctual really, I don't like being out of balance or out of control in myself or being out of control in a situation but recently discovered that it's not such a bad thing and that I can't really do much about it anyway, sometimes there needs to be a storm b4 the calm...
Anyway Thanks for your help Ra Much appreciated.
