Ok, I've had two themes showing up in my sleep for a very long time now, about a year and a half and was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

The first theme: The Food Buffet. I'm in a restaurant usually, or eating at home, and there its lots of food, and I want it all, I may or may not be hungry, but either way, I want to stuff myself with everything. Sometimes I can't acquire the food for some reason (I'm out of cash and can't pay, or I keep dropping the food)And there is more often than not a focus on dessert. Either I can't get enough of it, or I can't get it at all. Lots of sweets.

The second theme: Long hair. I've been wearing my hair very short for a long time now (I think I have some pics in the photo album), but before that I had it down to my lower back, then to below my shoulders, before finally chopping it all off. I love short hair, but sometimes I dream that I'm looking in the mirror and it's long again. It somehow grew back overnight! I usually hate it and try to pull it back or put it up, but a couple of times I feel like I missed that length, so I welcome it.

My friends have taken a stab at these but no one knows what the hair dream could mean.

Any ideas?

The Food Buffet - A buffet or restaurant usually indicates choices or decisions of some kind, but for you it seems that just eating the food is the emphasis. This being the case, eating whether hungry or not could symbolize greed. Or it could be that you have emotional or sexual needs that are not being met. There is some sort of void present that you are trying to fill/satisfy.

Having difficulty eating could represent a difficulty incorporating some sort of energy in waking life. This could be another person's energy, a situation, information, or an idea/thought that you are having trouble understanding or accepting.

Because sweets or desserts are frequently the focus, it could be indicated that you feel you are deprived of something, or you are depriving yourself of something, probably either emotional or sexual in nature.

Long Hair - could this have to do with something in your past? It seems you are associating your long hair with the way you used to be, so perhaps this is a subconscious reference to that time period, to some situation that you are glad to be rid of, yet at times that you miss.

There is also the possibility that your subconscious is asking you to look at yourself (mirror), to assess an old pattern (hair) or evaluate a growing thought process (hair).

Could these dreams have the same roots?

What happened in your life about a year and a half ago?

Was there an ending of a job, relationship, or a lifestyle?

Does any of this strike a chord? If not, I will try again!

A year and a half ago, there were relationship issues. My friends seem to agree this is what those dreams were referring to but I also wanted input from Lindaland.

There was also the end of a job at that time, actually. I hadn't thought about that, usually I'm too focused on the relationship that ended at that time.
