Ra, I`ve read all the snake dreams you`ve answered, but none seem to apply. I`ve told you I dispise snakes & am frightened of them, so this one puzzles me even more.

I answered my door and a village lady named Susie (someone I`m not fond of) was walking away mumbling: he`ll never get it back, never see it again, never hurt it again. I asked her who, she replied, Mike the cop... (a cop here who I`ve never met )

I looked and she had left me a snake in a cage. It had an elongated head and was just calmly winking and blinking at me.

I felt no fear (now thats ODD) just trepidation. Mike comes in looking for his snake and pleading for it back. I k-now he can`t have it and I need to keep it, like it or not .

The snakes is crawling every where and I try to locate it all the while dreading it. It bit me a couple of times in trying to capture it. Suprisingly, it didn`t hurt or scare me altho I knew it was poisonous.

It was besting me and I knew it. Finally, it sunk it`s fangs into my black dog. It looked up at me with blood on it`s mouth. I became very angry and realized it needed to die & I had to kill it. Somehow I did and I saw it laying there, in two pieces, split down the middle length wise and it was mummified. I felt sadness, puzzlement and relief.

I woke up feeling sullied or rather dirty. I wrote it down to ponder but nothing yet. Help?

I have been concerned that I may have shared too much info w/someone & that someday it may come back and bite me in the butt.

I leave it in your very capable hands Thank You!!

Hmmm ...

You read them all? And nothing seemed to apply? Well, snakes have a great many meanings, so I will look at this as soon as I can and we will figure it out.

When you think of snakes and symbolism, what comes to mind? And what about mummification?

May I butt in?

Sounds like you felt manipulated or falsely led (the snake winking at you) into doing something you normally wouldn't do (or harbor something you;re otherwise against) and it's eating you up. Some part of you seems to feel attacked.

Mummification=preservation?

A couple of years ago, when I would go over my dreams with someone, we very often used a personal association method in dealing with some things. What does a snake symbolize to you, juniperb?

Thanks Ra & Oxy. If I was to attribute human emotions to a snake I`d say, sneaky, underhanded, suprise attack, cold and calculating. Ugly as all get out too.

Mummification I instantly think of all the dead skin I find lying around from snakes shedding. It`s like a calling card, you didn`t see me but here`s a reminder I`m lurking around you all the time. Eww I`m getting the creeps from just thinking of it.

Other than that, I`m fascinated by mummies.

Does it help?

thanks, juniperb

I should be able to get to this tomorrow, juniperb!

What is it about Susie that you are not very fond of, specifically?

Do you recall the snake's colour? If not, what colour feels right? (if at all) I keep seeing a colour or two associated with it.

Do you feel that MIke represents another person, or an aspect of self? How did you feel about Mike the cop in the dream?

Hi Ra, Susie acts 'holier than thou' religous. Above everyone else and has a nasty habit of cheating on her husband and belittling him in public.

The snake was tan/brown.

I was indifferent to Mike. More like he`s a tool to flesh the dream out . I told him no and that was it.

In real life Mike is a Barny Fife type cop if that helps.

I would have never re-membered the Susie/Mike part had not I woke up & wrote it down. It was the snake biting me and my dog then the murder of it that would have been the stand out.

I`m really confused on this one.

Thanks Ra. juniperb

I must say that I am having difficulty figuring this one out. I am not sure what direction to go with it, so bear with me as I make a few guesses. Let us begin with this one ...

First, does anything Oxychick said strike a chord?

Okay, the snake could symbolize fear itself, or some form of negative energy. So, it could be that some fear has been bouncing around your mind (snake loose in house). You know that it is unhealthy to have this fear (poisonous) and that, in fact, it poses no great danger (bites do not hurt), except to your mind. Perhaps it is only after this fear of yours has affected someone you care for (symbolized by your dog) that you decide it must be eliminated (kill the snake). Your emotions are mixed/melancholy (sadness, puzzlement, relief) about this situation.

The halved, mummified snake could mean several things. It could indicate the recognition of opposing energies (two) concerning a fear that is old or outdated (mummified). It could indicate the separation (two/halved) of this fear from your old way of thinking (mummified). It could suggest that a situation in your life has you feeling separated, either a relationship, or from your "mummy"? Or it could be a warning about pushing this fear into your subconscious (two), only to allow it to "resurrect" (mummified) at a later time.

What, if anything, rings a bell?

Like I said, if something in this does not fit, then we shall try other direction.
