Ra or anyone...Has anyone else ever had the same dream as another person? Some years back I was visiting my mother and I said to her, "I keep having a recurring dream about a strange old house. I have been dreaming it ever since I moved to Houston." (I was living in Houston, Texas at the time.) Her eyes widened and she said, "What does it look like?" I started telling her about the dream and she started filling in parts, sort of finishing my sentences as I went. It turned out that she had been repeatedly having the same exact same dream about a house that neither of us had ever seen in waking life. But she wasn't in my dream and I wasn't in hers. It was a first person dream for both of us. In the dream, I (she) first saw the big old southern home from the dirt road which ran in front of it. I (she) recognised it as my family's home. The house was in disrepair and no one lived in it any longer. I (she) went inside and walked through the house. We each saw the same rooms, which were not in very good shape. We saw the same peeling floor covering. We saw the same scene out the windows and doors. It was quite a long dream, so I won't go into it all here, but at the end we each of us woke with a feeling that something was hidden there long ago and whatever it was, it was still waiting for someone from our family to come back and reclaim it. Additional similarities included the fact the my mother had lived in Houston for 2 years, then moved away, before I moved there. She started having the dream when she lived in that area. My great-great grandparents had moved to somewhere in that part Texas after the Civil War because they had lost the ancestral family plantation in Taladega County, Alabama. The dream was just so vivid. I have been in Canada for almost 2 decades and haven't had the dream in a long time, but I can still see the house and everything in the dream as clearly as if I were there in person yesterday. And this is kind of strange...when I'm in the house, it is as if I know it. This is hard to explain, but it is like I have memories of the house while I am dreaming about it. I can remember the people (my ancestors) while they were living there and I can picture exactly what everything looked like before it fell into disrepair. It is like walking through a derelict house that I actually grew up in with those people. I never knew what the dream meant, either for my mother or for myself, but it was quite strange that we both had it in so exact detail. To this day, I feel like I should be able to get in the car and drive right up to it, like it is still waiting there with its secret hidden treasure.

Has anyone else had the same dream as another person? What does it mean?

If circumstance ever permits, find the house. You and your ancestors are one and the same, and I would say the same to your mother. That was more than just a dream.

Very interesting!
