OK this one was pretty strange - righto I was down by the Abbey walking through the woods, I was wearing a long white dress with a white cloak over it (yeah like I would ever wear white!) both the dress and cloak were floor length and the cloak had a large hood draped down the back and I had a large garland of greenery and white flowers on my head, my hair was braided with white ribbons and hung down the back of my cloak (my hair was very very long)

As I walked, the leaves beneath my feet never made a sound and my dress and cloak never moved the undergrowth as I walked by. It was almost as though I was not actually touching anything.

I came to an area just beyond the waterfall and I saw a friend of mine, he was kneeling by a carved stone and he was laying some flowers there - after a while he stood to walk away and he faltered for a moment as though he knew he was being watched and turned my way - I smiled at him, but he looked right through me, shook his head and shrugged. He touched the stone and said Goodbye Joanne

When he walked away I moved around the Stone and it bore my name! it said 1969 - 2006

In the dream I was not shocked by this, I just walked away

That's when I woke up - was pretty freaked out too!

I now wonder if my cards are marked??

the friend in the dream is someone I have not seen for years
not even thought about him in ages
we went to school and college together
so no-one relevant to me now (or so I thought)

That said, I lean towards a meaning that has more to do with an aspect of self. A change of some kind ... internal, relationship, situation, something like that. It does appear to perhaps be a change of some large measure, but I cannot yet say what.

If this dream disturbs Joanne enough, she should ask her subconscious dream-self to clarify the meaning. Simply ask for clarification before going to sleep while visualizing the dream.

I will try for some more detail asap.

There are indications that perhaps there needs to be a change in your perspective about some situation. You mention that you do not wear white, but in the dream you are which could mean change, a change in awareness (white). It is suggested that there is something in your life that you have not "touched", perhaps unconscious energies of some sort (woods). These energies could be in the form of emotions, memories, or an aspect of some past situation that has been buried in your unconscious (friend from past). It could be suggested that this energy/situation is in "grave" need of attention, that there is something in your life that needs to be acknowledged.

I know this is rather vague, but I cannot seem to see anything more specific. I highly recommend meditating on this or trying to gain more insight from future dreams. This seems to be rather important in some way.
