Does anyone have a technique or meditaion that has brought them success in communicating with distant poeple, future lovers or those past on that they would loke to share???

I have wanted to develope this ability in myself but have come up with minimal success....nothing more than what seem like wishful dreams...

I'm also curious to know what are everyones thoughts on the reality of this ability coming about...I put no limitations on myself but wonder what kind of life style disapline would you think to be needed??

Sigh...you're not the only one Popeye. I wish I could find out that answer too. I want to reconnect with a long lost relative who is also a childhood sweet heart. I don't know where he is...I have a vague idea of the city he might be in. I haven't been in touch with him for ten years. Recently I've been having dreams that he is very sick. I remember whenever I dreamt about him like this, it always turned out that he was ill and really suffering. In the past I have tried to reach out to him by writing to him. When my letter would reach him, I would actually dream about it! Now I don't know how to find him. I'm trying telepathy. I don't know if it works as yet because he hasn't responded. I wonder what Linda would do in a situation like this? I wish some of our more enlightened Know Flakes would help.

Stay happy!

Well, I am nowhere near enlightened, and I have no particular suggestion. Have you read anything about the out-of-body state?

I make no claim to enlightenment either, but I do have quite a few dreams that come true. As far as dreaming about future lovers...I dreamed about my husband about 6 months before I met him and it was unbelievably accurate. I'm not sure about communicating through dreams, but it has sort of happened. I sometimes dream about distant friends, then when I call or e-mail them, they have dreamed about me the same night (though not the same dream). The thing is, I don't really have a technique for this. My precognitive dreams seem to come on their own schedule and I have had them since I was a small child. I did try one thing, however, and I'm pretty sure it worked. It was after I read a book by Richard Bach that talked about communicating with yourself in the past. I tried to send a message back to myself when I was a child. I had a very difficult childhood, in that my family had some deep seated problems that they inflicted on anyone who was involved with them, including me. I would get very depressed and just try to escape into a fantasy world. Once, when I was quite young, I got the message as clear as day.."Don't worry. You will be out of here one day and will live a happy, free life in the mountains of British Columbia." It really helped me. I told my mother and others in my family that when I grew up, I would leave Oklahoma and live in the BC mountains. Of course, they just made fun of me and told me that when I did grow up, I would realize that such fantasies don't come true. But now, looking out my window at the magical mountains and lakes that surround me in the heart of BC, I know my vision was correct. I think I sent that message back to myself when I got up here to the place I belong.

That is Fantastic Fishkitten!! I think we all like when the optamistic determination proves to the negative masses that mericales do happen!!!

I get out-of-body experiences and Astral travel confused...are they the same???..I know one can be extreamly dangerous and takes a very strong mind to navigate...

I us to have a reaccuring nightmare since I was 7 or 8...I would be running franticly trying to escape this huge Iron Ball that was so big I could ever see the top of it....I would look up only to see it curved above me....the sounds it made where like the crushing of gravel under a turning car tire but amplified so much because of the size of it....I had the dream a lot until I was 11 always the same...running into complete darkness the only light was my own white Aura and the reflection of it off the iron ball....then at 11 they became less frequent but more dramatic....instead of waking right before it crushed me my heals would be crushed and I would wake screaming...then my shins...then my knees...until I was 19 I had the dream again except I saw my self running, I was faster and the ball had spikes now....I felt calm and was looking into the box where I saw my terrofied face running with the spikes just feet from slicing me into lunch meat....then into my view I see a wall coming....Im runnning to it and reach it a sigle second before the ball impales me and turn....the spikes are inches from my face and in slow motion I see that they are not spikes but light shinning through the ball...they glide down my face and tranquility coursed through my vains...then as the balls surface came in contact with my face it exploded into a blinding light and shinned out the top of the box I had been watching through....I woke up after that and felt blessed in some way....

That is the closest to an out-of-body experience I have had...would I would like to learn more about them both.....why do you ask???

I have only been able to to communicate once through a dream, but I have done it so I know it is possible. The catch is we both had agreed to meet in our dreams tha night, and so had both been attempting to reach the other. I think that since we were both opening our minds to the other it made it easier, since no one can enter your mind without permission.

Ahhhh...I just found this post and I would like to share a little of my dreaming with all of you.

I have a very close friend that we dream the same dreams but from our own eyes/minds. For instance, a few weeks ago I dreamed that I was in a large windowed room that was VERY bright because the sunlight was coming in the windows. The windows reminded me of an airport but I knew that I was in a home. I saw my friend walking around and talking to other people and her and I saw each other and nodded. When we finally spoke of this dream we were able to describe the same things and even the coversations that were going on around us.

I also have dreams several times a week that show me what is going to happen in my life. Like I knew that I was not going to get a job I applied for and in the dream I saw the woman's name that got it. Two weeks later I got the news that the job went to a woman with that name.

I do not know how this happens but it has been happening all my life.

Not sure if this helps.

I don't know how to do that communciation. But last week I was thinking about my soulmates(very good friends) in Salt lake. The next day I got emails from all of them that they went for group lunch and were talking about me and wanted to know how I am doing.

But I know when I was thinking about them, I could visualize them and said that do you remember me.

Wow... Popeye.....
Wow... Irish Eyes
Neat-o

My mother and I have done this once~ When I was quite young and small, I dreamed my brother(older) and I were playing at a construction site.. in this house that had no walls, but ceilings.. just a raw structure, really. It was at the bottom of a big hill with a street. We were jumping on a sort of trampoline made out of tools and discarded wood ( springy plywood ) It was so vivid.. then my brother took a big leap up in the air and was {{{impaled}}} in the head by a big nail sticking out of the ceiling. He hung there by his head. I looked up and saw a big bus coming down the road.
This dream both scared and scarred me, and stayed with me. I never talked about it.
A few YEARS later, my mother became a city bus driver. One day she started talking about this really disturbing dram she'd had the night before. She said she was driving the bus, and saw my brother and I playing at a construction site. He jumped up on a trampoline type thing and was impaled by a nail sticking out of the ceiling.
I was like.. "Whoa!!" and the dream came back with crystal clarity.
Same dream, different people, different perspective.

that would leave scars, pixelp....

did your brother escape the trampoline/nail fate? (i hope so )

not a dream, but a long distance communication. as i was dining in a sushi restaurant one evening, i distinctly heard my great-aunt's voice...almost as if she were speaking in my ear. she said my name and i recall a very warm, intense feeling of love. it really caught me off guard. i learned the next day that she had died that very same evening.

Wow, these are some really interesting experiences. Popeye, that is one intense dream. Pixie, yours is creepy ... has your brother ever mentioned this dream?

Talaith

Irish eyes, your experience seems a bit more unique.

Omigosh.. Ra you called me creepy!!! I have never heard you say that!! Should I be concerned?
I will ask my brother.
I know he DID used to have dreams about these huge red eyes that would follow him. Reoccurring dreams.. a constant battle for him. He finally overcame them one day. I can't remember how.. it was silly though.

Funny enough about my 'bad dreams'.. If they involved someone mean or say, a fictional character of some sort, I'd always 'charm' or seduce them into not wanting to hurt me. I have done this for such a long time that I don't even know what time estimate to give. I was quite young. What a way to control your dreams, huh? I do kind of think it is a gift though.. charm. I am a great sales person, but am trustworthy, I wouldn't sell you anything you didn't want.. but you want to buy things from me because I am honest and nice.
I seduce bad guys.
I should read philosophy.
Goodnight
