hi all,ok im new at this anyway i was wondering if someone could shed some light on this life long problem of mine, for as long as i can remember i have been having really bad nightmares, im 23yrs old and while they arent a frequent as when i was a child, im now having them maybe one a fortnight instead of like 3 a night like i did when i was a kid,the nightmares range in theme from things like the abominal snowman in my house eating my parents, driving off cliffs, recurring dreams like someone trying to murder me, same dream to the point where its bacame lucid im telling myself no not this dream agian ok now jump out of the car and hide over there because he cant see you because of the hill, now wake up, wake up,. not all dreams are this bad i have really good ones too,but they dont hang in my mind for 10 years like the others do. things that have been happening over the last couple of years have involved me not being able to dial the correct number when i need to speak to someone urgently and other things like im in my dream and i can hear everything thats happening but all i can see is blurs of colour, its like my eyes are full of sleep, and my head feels like im really drunk, ive also been having dreams about my friends family members passing away and i hate it because it makes me feel morbid. this past week i had a dream that my bestfriend and i were on a trip or something, we were in a line of people climbing a steep hill which eventually levelled where there was a suspended bridge to some sort of structure which was shaped like a 3d saucer made totally of wood with one entrance and was on top of a very high pole, we were in good spirits to finally get there, and when inside it was set up like a mini market, were you colud get different things i chose a ball that was colored and i think it may of had something hanging from the bottom,i was content in this moment and that i was going to take home this ball, and that my friend and i had done this together, but then the structure started to spin on its self and people started to jump out of the exit, i could see the grass outside spinning by and the bodies landing on the grass and i was thinking we have to get off now while it is level with the earth, my dream swithched to a room filled with the people who had survived the accident, my friend was sitting with my brother and i had the feeling that i was no longer alive, i sat on my friends lap to hug him and i held his hand he had his hand on my leg, i then woke up. ok im rambeling sorry 1 more thing for the past year when im in bed sometimes i have this weird feeling, its like my whole body is spinning, but yet i can feel that my body is still on the bed.the spinning feels like its at a higher level about 30cm higher than my bed if i could picture wat it would look like from above it would be as if my body were hands on a clock.the first few times it happened it was scarey because i couldnt stop it,and it happened after one of my little freak outs in the middle of the night, now i can feel when its going to start so i just open my eyes which seems to pull me out of it. has anyone heard of things like this happening to anyone, i feel like a weirdo, and sometimes i wonder if its medical.

Welcome to LindaLand Amy You are not weird, and I doubt this is a medical problem. I am very familiar with the spinning. I used to actually encourage this spinning sensation as a prelude to having an out-of-body experience, and it also happened often when I would be relaxing my mind in preparation for Remote Viewing. I enjoyed it! I will give you some thoughts about your dreams as soon as I get the chance - perhaps tonight. Walk in Peace IP: Logged |

Really Ra? I love spinning!!! I just associate it with powering down and dissolving the nervous energy of the day. I would love to try remote viewing.. I can pretty much make myself 'spin'.. I find it very meditative and pleasurable. How does one learn remote viewing? Astral travel.. I have felt it, and while it was neat, and an experience I'd have again, I am not centred enough right now to want that experience at this point.. It makes a great story though!!IP: Logged |

I read alot of books on RV before I tried it out. Many of them give some very helpful suggestions on how to "practice", and after reading just about everything, one gets a feel for how to go about learning. IP: Logged |

Amy ~~ the root of your nightmares lies in your past, your childhood. Can you give an approximate age for when the nightmares started? Very simply, the dreams suggest that you have a fear of loss. You fear the loss of those closest to you. You are insecure. So, the question is ... why? Something in your past caused this deep insecurity. Jump in your mental time machine and travel back to this point in your childhood ... who or what did you loose, or badly fear loosing? What was happening at that time in your life? IP: Logged |

hi guys and thanks for your reply, as far as i can remember i started having nightmares at about 3 yrs old, the only events of loss i can think of were at a much later age of 9 yrs old. i can cleary remember having dreams of being lost or left behind as early as 6. up to the age of 4 yrs my family moved around alot, and most of the things i can remember before 4 dont feel like they have any connection to fears of loss.its good to know im not the only one spinning about, can anyone suggest any ggod books or sites for information on out of body experiences or anything relating, the more i know about things the less i seem to worry about them. thanks again IP: Logged |

Hello AmyIf this is not "fear of loss", perhaps it is insecurity. Did you feel insecure as a child? Do you still at times? As for out-of-body books, I always recommend one of the masters, Robert Monroe. He has a series of three books, beginning with Journeys Out Of The Body. IP: Logged |

Has he only written about OBEs?------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

One can never be too careful.. but of course I knew that.... My brother is a Cappy, as is my mother, as is my moon. I don't care what anyone says, your sense of humour is killer.. Usually dry and sarcastic, and witty. My brother can slay me.. I am literally crying from laughing so much. But, you know.. whenever you rib and play with someone in a position of 'authority'.... (in that you could take away my playing privledges), I have to make sure it is understood that I am ONLY playing. Is all. So how come you didn't post your hair pic in the new photo place, huh? Did you cut it all off? Donate it to charity?IP: Logged |

Randall As far as I know, Monroe's only books are about his OBEs, but I could be wrong. I do not have nightmares either. IP: Logged |

I never have "nightmares" either - I have bad dreams, but nothing I would categorize as a nightmare - I haven't had a nightmare I can recall since I was very young. What categorizes a "nightmare"? And if you don't ever have them, what would be the likely reason for that? ------------------ “The good things which belong to prosperity are to be wished, but the good things that belong to adversity are to be admired.” Seneca IP: Logged |

Hello Isis There are probably plenty of people who expereince what we (you and I) call bad dreams, but they call them nightmares. And then there are many who truly have very scary, nightmarish dreams, dreams like you and I may have had only a half dozen times in our entire lives (if at all). I suppose it is all a matter of subjective degree. And if you don't ever have them, what would be the likely reason for that?
Fewer stresses, less anxiety, no childhood trauma, more relaxed personality in general, ... who knows. IP: Logged |
