I was given a gift bag with various gifts in it (I don't know why). The first gift I pulled out was a bottle of champagne (it was a gift from the guy). Champagne isn't a drink I particularly like, but it was nice to receive a gift. The next couple of gifts were small animated furry animals (I don't know who from) but they made me laugh and I loved them.

Next thing this guy said there were more presents in the bag, which I hadn't noticed. When I looked there was a ring box, I opened it and it was a white gold ring with a large oval amethyst stone setting. Amethyst is my favourite stone but the stone in the ring was too large for my taste. He put that ring to one side and opened the box again, it contained many rings. This time he pulled out two diamond rings, much smaller settings and a lot nicer. He put them on my fingers (wedding finger and middle finger) and I did think they looked nice next to each other. But I did wonder in the dream why he was giving me presents.

A bit later on I was talking to a couple of friends and he was there (its a bit hazy at this point)and my friends indicated to him that he was hiding something. He laughed and said maybe he was but he would reveal all tomorrow.

Any ideas on what it means?

Or maybe subconsciously you want to be with him for the rest of your life?But you just don't know it yet.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not interested in the guy at all, he's too earthy for me, a bit of an anorak, and marriage does not figure in my plans at all, there's too much else I want to do.

I think there is some sort of message in the dream but I can't figure it out. I keep trying to tell the universe that I don' do subtle but it keeps on sending them and I keep missing it.

I have been thinking about your dream more.
Presents are surprises given to you for a reason,mainly your Birthday or Christmas(If you celebrate Christmas).Sometimes you ask people what you want and sometimes you dont.
Anyway,when you open your presentsyou either like it or not.Maybe this concept translate that there will be surprises for you in the near future,whether you like them or not.Maybe by this guy or someone close to you.When you realise what yours presents are, the truth shall b revealed or made clearer in respect on how the presents fit into your life at that moment.
JUst another 2 cents more.

The gifts were neither Christmas or birthday presents.

It sounds interesting what you've said. Generally, if I have a dream that's a bit prophetic things tend to happen within a couple of weeks. Transiting Uranus is conjuncting my sun and opposing Jupiter/Pluto/Moon which would fit in with surprises. Transitin Pluto is also adding to these energies.

I guess we shall have to wait and see but I think you are on to something.

If this does not feel like the case, then you should put yourself in his place within the dream in order to gain insight. As him, describe yourself, or ask yourself questions such as "what am I (him) doing?".

Without knowing what he represents, we can still make some guesses as to the rest of the symbology.

Receiving gifts could indicate the acknowledgement of some talent or ability, perhaps connected with the value of celebration (champagne), something that amuses you or makes you happy (furry animals). Work related? Social? More personal?

The rings can symbolize the Self, completion, union, something valuable/precious, etc. The oval can also be a symbol for the Self, as well as energies of a feminine nature. What does Amethyst (my favorite gem as well) mean to you? To me it represents spiritual energies. Have you turned back something (whatever amethyst means to you) that seemed to "big" for you to handle, or "not to your taste"? Have you instead recieved something "smaller", yet more "pure", or valuable?

Do you work with your hands? Are you doing, or have you done, something of value with your hands? (writing, creating, ...) Or have you "handled" something of value?

There are a lot of possibilities. And you will have to consider how the guy fits in.

I'm a complementary therapist and work with my hands. This guy is the main IT person that set up our website. The company sent out a bill before the website (in my opinion was complete) I sent a letter pointing out some mistakes that I felt was detrimental to our business and wouldn't pay until I was satisfied that all mistakes had been ironed out and that everything complied with what had been agreed before we gave the go ahead.

This guy took it personally, (probably because he had related a bit on personal side by telling me about himself, but this normally happens to me anyway)he sent back a very childish letter and made things as awkward as possible for me to edit and update the website. That put us in a deadlock position that took over six months to resolve. When it was and he came to demonstrate how to do things, he did apologise. Even now, I've twice had to ring him to point out problems with the email set up, which irritates me no end as the website didn't come cheap and I do not want to have anything further to do with that company.

I like the colour of amethyst and think of it as spiritual protection, I wear a pendant all the time. Its also my birthstone.
