I wonder if any of you have experienced this?Have you ever taken a nap(usually in the afternoon) and you fall asleep, but you are still aware (dimly)of what is happening around you like you are half between dreamland and reality, but you are still able to have a dream even though you are not really in a 'dream mode'? What is that incident called. Need to know MD IP: Logged |

There may be a name for it, but I don't know it. Your body is asleep, while your mind is both awake and asleep - semi-conscious. A curious state to be in. IP: Logged |

Dear Moondreamer, I too used to get an experience quite like it where my mind was awake but not my body, But i havent had a dream within a dream if thats what you mean, I actually thought i was astral travelling for a while or something more sinister..and got quite freaked about it. Can you move your body when this happens?? If not its a case of exhausted body mind awake. I used to panic like i was stuck somewhere untill i realized i was actually awake, and eventually my body would wake up, I used this technique to help try and turn over and sing untill u wake,, works with me although it can still be scary. Hope this helps..CarinaIP: Logged |

Moondreamer, I have had experiences where in my dreams suddenly a phone will ring or a clock will chime and as I leave the dream the same is happening in my home. Or was it more like being aware that you need to get up and do things and you dream that you are doing them, but then are surprised to find that you are still lying in bed when you become fully aware? I have found that there is a very thin line between the reality of the 'dream time' and this one we call consciousness. Too often it becomes fairly blurred and they sneak into each other. Kind of like dreaming about things happening in the 'awake time.' It can work in reverse.IP: Logged |

I cant really explain what i am trying to express here. The best way to express it is I am aware of sounds and what is around me but at the same time I am somehow dreaming, not what I am supposedly to do next but like normal dreaming-if that makes sense. MDIP: Logged |
