Last night I had 2 dreams in which I can't remember what happened in both. However in the dreams, I had made a mistake in which I didn't wish I had made. As soon as I realised this, all of a sudden I said "stop!" Everything at that moment just FROZE. I then find myself back at the point in which I had made a mistake and I corrected it.The dream then carried on from where I said stop. This happened in both dreams.Have I now the ability to stop time in my dreams? And make them go the way I want them to go? Or is it just a one off thing? This has never happened before. IP: Logged |

Very cool.I would say that we always have the ability to stop time in our dreams, and to direct them however we wish ... we (most of us) just do not usually do so consciously, or at least remember doing so. With practice, this ability can be called upon and used at will. For some reason you got a taste of what it feels like to do this. On an interpretive, symbolic note, is there something you wish you could go back and change in your waking life? IP: Logged |

It's called "lucid" dreaming. When it happens the first time it's usually by accident where the dreamer is on the very edge of being wake and is slightly aware. But it can be conditioned, I have done it on occasion. It's a good excercise when you want to resolve an issue within yourself. Like, if you have a common theme in your dream, an inability to do something or someone or thing is after you, you can resolve that issue by taking control. Most often in my lucid dreams, I was in a car and I had to materialize it. What I did to call on it again was to put it in my mind, repeat it to myself as I went to sleep. It doesn't work everytime but after awhile it comes more easily. I hope this helps.IP: Logged |

Thanks Ra and Virgomaiden.Ra- There are a lot of things I would LOVE to change in my waking life going back to I dont even remember. I am sure other people want to do that. VM-Now I know what a "lucid" dream is.I thought it was a dream where your worse fears come alive ,similar to a nightmare.
