I have found that I love all things Victorian. The clothing, the jewelry, the hair combs, the photographs, the paintings, the music, the shoes, the rich colors and just beautiful things overall of that era. I have also always had a great fear of drowning...I hate to swim in water that I cannot see underneath me. Pools are ok, and I can swim, but lakes, rivers, oceans...uh uh...however, I am drawn to the water and especially love to water/listen to the ocean. A couple of weeks ago, we went on vacation to our favorite spot in Ocean Isle, NC. Hurricane Alex was making his appearance there and the waters were a bit rough. I found myself quite nervous each time we went to the beach, and moreso at night time, for we had some moonlit walks with the kids. One of the days we were there, we went to the Ripley's aquarium. They had a feature film and showcase of the Titanic. While standing in line I was looking at the photos and drawings of the ship and the passengers...I had the strangest feeling come over me. We made our way into the little film room and watched a 15 minute film about the ship and that fateful night, and while watching it I felt like I was drowning myself. I left the room coughing and sputtering and had to use my inhaler! I couldn't even bare to look at the exhibits they had. A day or so later, Emily convinced me to walk out on the sandbar past where the waves break to "ride" the waves in...I have never been so terrified in my life. I started to hyperventilate and had to go back to shore. All I have been able to think about though, is that eerie feeling that I had while watching that film and looking at those photos...and then this feeling of dread whenever I think of getting in water that I cannot see the bottom.... I just thought it was an odd coincedence...or maybe a past life sign? Who knows...just weird... IP: Logged |

WOW! Your post has intrigued me so much!! I am getting ready to go out to dinner, but when I have more time, I will do some research on those sites (thank you) especially the Titanic one.Incidently, ironically, oddly, or just plain weirdly~I had an almost drowning incident in a pool as well! I was 9 at the time, it was August of 1980, I turned 10 in December, but, my family and I were in Myrtle Beach, SC and I was standing on the edge of the pool at the 3ft end. A boy who I had tried to make friends with, was standing in front of me and he told me to get away from him and shoved me backwards. I fell into the pool and my ankle got caught on the edge of the pool. I was face down in the pool, but couldn't reach the bottom because I was a little girl and my body wasn't that long. I was flailing around in the water, and he had put his foot on top of mine, hence holding it there so I couldn't get it off. I was TERRIFIED. I would also love to swim in the ocean with all those amazing animals, and those kinds of shows on Discovery channel are my alltime favorite. Matter of fact, we saw a school of dolphins swimming off the sandbar from the beach where we were!! It's the first time I've ever seen dolphins in the wild, that closely! I always wished they would pick me at Sea World to be kissed my Shamu too...and to play with the dolphins. Such an interesting response!! Thank you so much!! I must do more research now on the Titanic...my interest has been sparked remarkably! YAY! IP: Logged |

Bernsie!!! *HUGS*I have the same problem with dealing with WWII I was talking to Amber about that recently. I feel the same sense of suffucation and a sense of blind terror a lot time when I see shows on TV talking about WWII. I used to love to go to all the civil war memorials over on I-95 but I can't even go to them anymore cause I start to panic and just freak out when I come near them. Though I used to have a HUGE love of studying war year ago. I don't think you're weird I think there is a good possibility of a connection with the Titanic and it definitly is worth looking into. *waves hi* May IP: Logged |

CHECK THIS OUT!! Dear Amanda - I am so sorry for the delay on answering your email about the Titanic degrees in your chart. Although there isn't any direct planetary activity in your chart with the degree points - there are some significant undertones within you that resonate to this event, which might be more subtle. I am feeling that you were deeply affected by the Titanic from a deep loss sense - maybe of losing someone close to you on the ship - perhaps a significant other - from a past lifetime. That loss propelled you into an entirely new life direction - basically forced you to be self-sufficient - when before, you were with this someone who was going to take care of you. I am wondering how you feel about it now - perhaps a bittersweet feeling of a loss you can't quite identify - or perhaps you've read about someone that was on the ship and identified with them more than you thought you might. I would be interested in knowing how you feel about the Titanic - how its affected you in your life. Many blessings - Eileen Grimes All I did was send her my chart info and that I had an interest in the Titanic...I didn't tell her anything that I mentioned above!!!! WHOA!!!!! IP: Logged |

And here is my response to her!WOW!!! Thank you SO much for looking at my chart and for your response!!! This is just AWESOME! Yes...the feeling of loss is a perfect way to describe my feelings! I have never been able to pinpoint how I felt about it, just tragic though. I have always been drawn to the Titanic, even as a young child, it was so fascinating to me. I work for a school system, and a few years ago one of our schools participated in the JASON project led by Robert Ballard, the man who raised the Titanic. It was unbelievable. When I watch documentaries of the ship and that night, I feel as if I go into a trance or something and just cannot get enough of it all. Watching those ocean rovers as they scan the bow of the ship and bits of it's contents flash onto the screen, I have such a sinking feeling. I could not even watch the movie version Titanic. I have always loved the ocean, the feel of the water, the sound of the waves, however, I cannot bear to be "in" the water. Recently my family and I went to Ocean Isle NC, one of our favorite vacation spots and my oldest daughter talked me into walking onto the sandbar past where the waves break, and I began to hyperventilate while in the water! I was scared to death. Watching the waves come up to me, my shoulders, I just had this horrific feeling of being sucked under to my death. And this was a feeling I cannot recall ever really having, not to that extent anyway. Then, we went to Ripley's Aquarium and they had an exhibit on the Titanic. While standing in line for the 20 minute movie, of actual footage of some of the ship and a re-enactment of that night, we looked at some photographs of the ship and it's interior. The large stairwell and grand dining room...the statesrooms, etc. And I couldn't stop looking at them. The staircase had me the most captivated, and recollecting my life, I have ALWAYS had a fascination with staircases. This was no exception and I thought to myself, I must be nuts to be feeling so...like I stood on that staircase at one time! When we went into the room for the movie, after watching it, I was coughing and sputtering and had to use my inhaler when I came out of the room. I felt as if I was drowning. I couldn't even stand to look at any of the other exhibits, I just had to get out of that room.... I came home and mentioned this on a message board that I like to read, one that supports Linda Goodman, and a poster there gave me the link to your site and suggested I look into why I feel the way I do about the Titanic. Hence my email to you. So yes, I suppose it has affected my life in a sense, as I can remember watching a film once when I was a child, about a ship that sunk, but the people lived, and they were alive for years and years underwater. For them time stood still, and that is how I feel. I sometimes feel trapped in this time. As if my intuition wants me to move forward, but my body will not allow it. Does that make any sense? I can tell you that I believe I have a spirit guide, for I dream constantly about a man, he is tall, medium build, he has dark curly hair. I have never seen his face though, but he is in my dreams all the time. And he always "saves" me in them...he pulls me from the path of a tornado....and once I dreamt that I was looking at myself while being in a coffin, surrounded by flowers, and he was at my head whispering for me to open my eyes. He held something over my mouth and squeezed it and water or some liquid came out and I opened my mouth and it went in. I was struggling to open my eyes, and trying to move... Something even more odd, is a friend of mine had a dream a few weeks/months ago, that she saw me walking in a parking lot, and a man with dark curly hair was walking with me. She said she was calling my name and I turned around and said "Amanda is not my name" ....she does NOT know of the man in my dreams, for I've not really told alot of people of him, for fear of being made out to be crazy ha...but this is stoking my curiousity...in many, many ways.... What do you make of this? Thank you for your time and interest in me!!!! FINALLY Someone who might be able to help me sort out some of the oddities of my life!!! Love and light, Amanda

Although this hasn't anything to do with the titanic:My little sister was sitting with me and one of my mums friends. This was before she could talk. I left the room and when I came back my mums friend was totally freaking out. She said Cody (my little sister) had starting talking. I asked what she had said and this was it. "I used to have a little brother called Jeremy. He was really fun to play with, but he's gone now." Okay...scary... I also have a deep fear of bridges. I cant stand them, they just really really scare me. I'm scared of water but not as much as bridges. Who knows why? IP: Logged |

From "Ghosts of the Titanic" by Dr. Charles Pellegrino. I felt the need to copy this part . "Marjorie Newell Robb and the Third Class seemed galaxies apart, but Marjorie became "diseased with grief" the moment the stern disappeared, and diseased with 'survivor's guilt" when she understood what she had seen happening to people in the third-class cabins. For seventy-four years she never spoke about the Titanic. Then, in 1986, she saw the video Bob Ballard had shot, and heard the explorer speaking about how it felt to be in a submarine on the decks of the Titanic. Simultaneously, marjorie and at least two other survivors mouthed the same words at their television sets: "On the Titanic? You were only near the Titanic. I was on the Titanic." Weeks later, Marjorie made the pilgrimage to a cemetery in Litchfield, England. She stood under the memorial that served as a marker for Captain Edward J. Smith, and as she stood on that spot, she heard music, "as though it came from near and far, both at once," and she was certain she had heard it on the boat deck, that cold April night... and Irving Berlin tune... "One o' clock in the morning I get lonesome..." She began talking to people, then, talking about how she remembered some of the lowermost lights going off, then on again; but much of the night, they just seemed to go off, and stay off, along the decks she knew to be Third Class aft. Looking back, Marjorie realized that "being priveliged had everything in the world to do with being alive. There was always something really odd about first-class passengers. They had different ways. They never looked over to Third Class, not even at the worst moments. They were apart. Those in the third-class area had the lights turned off on them. In Third Class you had no light, but in First Class you had all the light you wanted. Money talked. In the darkness, the passengers in Third Class could not find their way out. They couldn't see anything at all. The women and the children were trapped in the dark. They were screaming. It was the single most callous, inhumane act. The image of the gallant officers saving all the women and children - it is a falsehood. A complete falsehood." IP: Logged |

Interesting you would put in a large section of Charlie Pellegrinos' writing here - for those of you who haven't read any of his material - he's really an out-of-the-box thinker on Titanic, which I truly appreciate. "Ghosts of the Titanic" is probably my favorite book on the subject. And I'm also proud to call Charlie a friend - I have spent time with him on the phone talking Titanic with him, as well as corresponding with him regularly. He's a brilliant man, and unfortunately he hasn't had due recognition on his theories by the Titanic historical people. However, someday that will happen. I did write about him in the book (he gave me his birth information very willingly). I think his story is one of the more amazing Titanic stories I've read. Just as a teeny commercial - my book is available on my website - titanicastrology.com, and also Amazon.com. I look forward to corresponding with all of you.. Eileen Grimes IP: Logged |

I feel like a proud parent. I wanted to share with you the upcoming review of my book that will be in next month's Dell Horoscope Magazine:Titanic Astrology by Eileen Grimes; Little Shaver Press, 2400 NW 80th Street PMB 109, Seattle, WA 98117; 2004, paper, 285 pp. (6" x 9"), $16.95, ISBN 0-9747029–0-0.
The sinking of the Titanic was one of the most spectacular events of the 20th century, inspiring many books, explorations and blockbuster movies. Billed as "unsinkable" by its owners, the Titanic somehow challenged the powers that be with its arrogance and sumptuous consumption, and on its maiden voyage made a fateful collision with an iceberg on April 14, 1912 at precisely 11:40 pm. Two hours later the 45,000 ton ship broke in two, and plunged to the bottom of the ocean.
Eileen Grimes presents a fascinating astrological investigation into the people and circumstances surrounding the world's most celebrated shipwreck in Titanic Astrology. Many documented memories of that fateful event reflect the weirdness of it all - the premonitions, the missed opportunities, the dramatic juxtaposition of the wealthy and the poor. On the day of the collision itself, no less than twelve messages were sent to the Titanic, warning that they were entering a dangerous area filled with icebergs. What many astrologers might want to know is, was the catastrophe predictable, and therefore preventable?
In any case, the point of no return was when the Titanic actually struck the iceberg. Before that, maybe the passengers and crew could have averted their collective disaster. After that, the ship was doomed. Using this criteria, the author erects a horoscope for the precise moment the Titanic hit the iceberg. This she calls the Master Chart, and it's perfectly descriptive of the catastrophe at hand. More than that, it represents an astrological signature through the critical degrees that echoes throughout the personal charts of the major players involved, both before and after the actual sailing of the ship. The meticulous astrological detective work is woven through the book's three major sections, which describe the Master Chart, the key players involved in the incident, and the storytellers that came afterwards.
The event chart itself centers on Neptune's location in Cancer and its exact square to the lunar node axis in Aries and Libra. This configuration takes place at 21 degrees, a zodiacal address that crops up repeatedly in all the major players involved with the building, sinking, and filming of the Titanic. Mercury retrograde is also a major planetary indicator, reflected in the Titanic's numerous miscalculations that led to its downfall. Mercury's retrograde motion is classically defined as missing communications. Mercury was also squaring Neptune, so that the people involved were clouded with misinformation and close calls that could have dramatically changed their fate.
One such individual was the Captain of the Titanic, Edward John Smith. He was born on January 27, 1850. According to my private correspondence with the author, the chart was rectified to a birth time of 5:10 am by the late Lois Rodden, and it seems to fit quite well. Captain Smith's horoscope has many planets in the same degrees as the Titanic's Master Chart, especially the critical 21 degrees in cardinal signs. In addition, the Master Chart's Mercury retrograde was exactly conjunct Smith's Pluto. The Captain was paralyzed with inaction when he realized the ship was going down. His Sagittarius Ascendant is the same as the Sagittarius Ascendant in the Master Chart. Although the reader may think these alignments are coincidental, in profile after profile, the author gives the background and amazing astrological parallels of the most prominent people connected with the Titanic's sinking.
The "coincidences" continue in the charts of the storytellers who followed. Several major movies were made of the Titanic, and the actresses and actor involved also have strong links to the Titanic's Master Chart. Barbara Stanwyck's story is captivating, and for one time in her life, she broke down from her rigidly independent character when she played the lead in the 1953 version of the Titanic. Her Sun conjunct the Titanic's Neptune reveals the unusually close emotional connection she had with the character she was playing during the enactment of the Titanic's last moments. In another poignant vignette, James Cameron, the director of the Oscar-winning, 1997 version of the Titanic, gets his story told, and the astrology that shows why he was attracted to the Titanic in the first place.
Fans of the Titanic and astrologers of all levels will enjoy reading Titanic Astrology. Those with little or no astrological background are guided through the basics, and Titanic fans in general will appreciate the unusual scope of the more paranormal aspects of this case. Astrologers will be checking their own charts for the planetary signature, and recognize a format for conducting their own investigations into their favorite spectacular incident. The beauty of the author's tale is that it's both well-written and contains a lot of astrology. The blend creates a synergistic bounty that transcends the more boring cookbook astrology references or the bland historic accounts that offer no grand design. This is good story-telling combined with meaningful astrology.
