oh man where to start on this one?! It seemed really long and I'm sure I lost a lot of it now because I woke up late this morning and had to rush Hunter off to school so I couldn't write it down right away. Makes sense I'd dream of AV, though, after finding out they used my artwork as a backdrop at their concerts.I was at an AV concert. It was very small and intimate - smaller even than the show I saw in Berlin last month. It was probably only half the size of that. ohhhh I was experiencing bliss. I was right in front of the 'stage'. It wasn't really a stage, though, because it was only about a foot off the ground and very small. There was room for Marian (who was sitting on a stool) and a guitarist, I think. I didn't notice anyone else if they were up there. It was a sort of accoustic set.
For some reason there was a microphone in front of me so when I was singing along to the songs it was being amplified along with his. This was a little disconcerting to me at first but soon it didn't bother me at all because I got into the music. I sounded pretty good, actually, singing as sort of a backup singer.
After the show there was sort of a party/mingling type of thing. .. like last month except that Marian wasn't quite so swamped with people because it was a more intimate affair. He walked around talking to people and seemed in fine spirits.
I didn't want to bother him so I was sitting by myself, thinking of the show and how it was so great, etc. when Marian came and sat next to me. This caught me by surprise. I forget what he asked me but it seemed like small talk about the show or something. Then he started talking about a book he wanted to write which was really interesting to me. He told me he couldn't tell me all about it there because there were too many people but that he'd tell me the next day on the phone because he wanted to call me.
I thought that was cool but my immediate response was "yeah right he doesn't want to tell me at all because he sure as hell isn't calling". I was a little nicer when I told him, "Are you sure you're really going to call?"
This woman came over, obviously someone he knew, and told me to take out my ticket stub. I pulled it out and she told me to look at the back and at what it said. So I did and it said "tomorrow".
me: "Tomorrow. Okay? And...?"
her: "Not everyone's tickets say tomorrow. Yours is different for a reason."
Marian smiled at me and was gone again in the crowd.
The next thing I'm aware of I was at home and awake and waiting for his call - unsure if I believed he'd call at all because I realized I didn't even give him my phone number!! I was cleaning the apartment which was just covered in so much dust. I was sweeping when the phone rang and I picked up. I had to turn down the cd player which was playing AV.
It was him and I asked how he managed to get my phone number. He said he had it for a long time but didn't tell me from where. Now... in his dream his voice in my ear was very real. I don't know how to describe that properly but it was very solid and very 'him'. But anyway - he started talking about this book he wanted to write again.
me: oh is it going to be an autobiography??
him: *laughing* no, not an autobiography.
me: about the band then?
him: no not about that either. It's a story.
me: about what?
him: I told you already.
me: no... you didn't.
him: I'd like for you to help me write it.
me: **happy** really? wow I'd love that, etc.etc.
him: It has to be 800,000 words.
me: *choke* okay that's a HUGE book.
him: well alright then 80,000 words for now.
So we talk about the book for a little while and the book I'm writing with May... AND the book he wrote in waking life called "Around the Universe". Then he was in the room with me all of a sudden (happens in dreams sometimes) and he's still talking about the book and saying "80,000 words!"
I asked him again what it was about and he looked at me like it was ridiculous that I was asking. "I told you! And if you need to know again then Claudia knows. You can ask her" (Claudia is their fan liasion and website person in waking life -- SUPER nice woman).
Next thing I know we are on a train. The woman from the concert is there but she is busy walking along the train and talking to people. Marian is sitting across from me with someone from the live band. Marian told me he liked my hair that shade of red and he told the man next to him that I was going to help him write his book.
Marian: and she's only 16!
man: 16?!
me: But I look older so it's okay! I look at least 18.
man: but isn't 16 illegal??
me: No. I look 18.
Marian: The age doesn't matter.
man: but-
Marian: The age doesn't matter! She's a great writer.
