This was wierd, and I thought I would share. I was spiralling down to sleep, without rational thought, just nothing, at least nothing I was conscious of.. and then suddenly, an image came to me, unheeded and unwarned. A man, dangling upside down, bound, with an orange cover/gag in/over his mouth. He was alive.. but it was such a horrific image, and it came from nowhere, just sprung into my consciousness.... It certainly wasn't anything I would have envisioned or thought up. It was very vivid.. so much so I woke immediately, disturbed, my heart beating very fast. What is that about? Also, I woke in the middle of the night, sprung up in bed, gasping for air.. I even woke my husband up with it, though I wasn't aware I had done it. He reacted , asking if everything was okay.. he said it seemed like there was an intruder, from my reaction. I don't remember everything, just what he told me.. then I vaguely had the feeling I couldn't breathe, and that's why I awoke so crazily. Am I picking something up from somewhere? Why such a horrid image? And what in the world should it/does it mean to me???????? Thanks for any insight. IP: Logged |

Whoa! That is scary pixie. I dont know if youve read the 'Strong Winds while dreaming' thread, but Carissa and I were talking about visions we've gotten in that 'almost asleep state', and things we hear in that state. I've gotten flashes of disturbing images as well. I'm not really sure what is going on, but I think it's safe to say we are tapping into something. I tend to think that these images have something to do with past lives. I think the images might be flashes of them. Do you ever hear things as youre drifting off to sleep? Sorry I dont have a definite answer of what happened, but I have similar experiences and they are scary at times. I'll have to do some more researching on this. I'd love to know what is going on too. When you said you saw, "A man, dangling upside down, bound, with an orange cover/gag in/over his mouth." and then you awoke gasping for air and you "vaguely had the feeling you couldn't breathe", it really made me think you could have been seeing a flash of a past life. Who knows? What do you think of this theory? IP: Logged |

ok, this may be scary. Do you have strong empathic/psychic feelings? They do seem to dress the hostages in Iraq in orange jump suits.Just a thought. IP: Logged |

26Taurus... I will have to read that thread now... I know there have been other threads discussing hearing things before sleep.. I did contribute to the discussion. I do hear things. Every night, I surround myself with white light ( as well as the ones I care about) last night, I didn't. Maybe that was the difference.Waxing soul~ahhhhhhh!!! I don't want those images, if that is indeed what they are.... Am I empathic? I wouldn't say I am psychic, exactly. Sometimes, in some situations, I am more sensitive than some. Empathic, yes... Psychic? Hmm... I know it can grow, and also suddenly come out of nowhere.... I wonder. I am open to the idea, although I am quite sensitive to negative images.. I don't like them. Oh, and Welcome! By the way, I should mention.. they were isolated by time... The first image was just as I was falling asleep.. just out of nowhere.... I awoke a few hours later with the notion of not breathing.IP: Logged |

Welcome, waxing soul (love the name)Pixie That would definately be unsettling. I would wonder the same as you ... did I pick something up from somewhere? What does it mean? (If anything?) Past life? Something about the house? The neighbor's? Some haphazard image from someone else's mind or life or past or future that I just happened to intercept at just the right time, right moment, right vibration? Who could say. IP: Logged |

Hm.I'm no help. The first thing that came to my mind on this one was "The Hanged Man" in tarot. *shrugs* IP: Logged |

Dear Pixelpixie, Even I thought that the hanged man appeared to you, Just as Proxoeme did. I had previously posted a thread called 12 and this is what Meili and Fishkitten had exchanged: quote:
12 - The Hanged Man - Mem - The Sea Meili: Is this the same “sea” that mystics such as Rumi speak of?- Yes, it is the same sea…the great ocean of all that can be…the Nexus….represented in physical manifestation as the seas of the Earth to remind us of the depths from which we originate. I like the philosophy espoused by Rumi, although I think there are more convenient ways than whirling to find what one seeks.
The only thing I heard in a dream was a chanting in some language. And I was drifting in space and objects came flying to me one by one. First was an angel like being with wings (I was afraid to take a look at its face and it passed by) and the next was a hand a 2 foot hand(starting from wrist and 4 fingers) all white. I enjoyed it and same time scared. A voice was telling me don't worry? I didn't know where the voice came from? I said oh God let me go back. And next thing I woke up. And cursing myself, why was I scared of such a beautiful vision and chanting. The way the dream started was I saw a blue light near the forehead center. Then I zoomed to a particular tile of a floor and going past, I observed those flying objects. All the time a voice from nowhere was guiding me.
PEACE.

I mean.. the imagery sounds right, and I am into the Tarot.... however... It seemed menacing, whereas I don't see the hanged man, in my mind's eye as menacing.... This had an eerie quality, in that it popped into my head, unheeded and unwanted.. like it didn't come from me.. it shocked me. My heart was beating like crazy!!! I was like.. WTF? (What terrible um... fright) yeah.I would love to bring closure and say.. oh yes,it made sense.. but nope.. not the hanged man. Doesn't seem right. I guess it is just one of those wonky things.... but rest assured, I am not fogetting to surround myself and loved ones with white light. Truly... even if it simply calms me and is part of the wind-down routine and has no merit aside from that ( it does) it works. Centres me and leaves me in calm peace. *most of the time* Thanks for the theories and help.. I appreciate it.

Hey honey, I've been pondering over this. I did a little research and found info on Westley Alan Dodd, the first man to be hanged in America for 28 years. quote: According to eye witness accounts Dodd appeared at the top window of the execution room at 12.02 a.m., with his hands pinioned in front of him by a strap around his wrists and wearing an orange, boiler suit style, prison uniform.
The only thing is same outfit - however he hanging by the neck *hmm tapping chin..* http://www.geocities.com/trctl11/hanging.html There's also an extract from (about 6 paras down); http://www.xs4all.nl/~stgvisie/VISIE/America's_gulag.html quote: Maher was still wearing an orange boiler suit and was shackled with steel handcuffs and chains.
I am just as curious as you pix, however I didn't see anything on hanging upsidedown yet.. IP: Logged | |
