Hi thereI wonder if any of you can help me? I have started to record my dreams for a time now and I am using a dream dictionary( not mine) to see what variuos symbols mean. However the dictionary is from a religious view point which I don't like. I want to know what the best dream dictionary on the market there is for a beginner? Could anyone help me please. Thank you. PS- What does person speaking on a cellphone in a dream generally represent? IP: Logged |

I can recommend Interpreting Dreams from A-Z. It's not jam packed with traditional meanings or anything but it does show how to think differently and individually about your dreams. Say you dreamt about a cat. The book will give you a general meaning for it. But then it will ask you how you felt about it, the size, the color, what it was doing, etc. No two cats in a dream will ever be the same. You know? There are a lot of books out there. My general advice is to stay away from the dream dictionaries that have only one or two sentence definitions. Unless you are a very religious person, you will not need those slanted towards a particular religion either. Good luck! Have fun! IP: Logged |

I just came across a nice website! I like it because it doesn't treat all the symbols as Prophecies like, "this symbol means you'll win a lot of money soon". I think a lot of Dream Dictionaries do that and it kind of bothers me. Here are some good ones: http://www.dreamloverinc.com/ And this is another site that's good but doesn't offer a lot in the dream dictionary http://www.dreamdoctor.com/

My favorite is "The Mystical, Magical, Marvelous World of Dreams" by Wilda B. Tanner. She does mention "God" every now and then but I really don't think in an unflattering way.
