Ra or anyone, help please?
In the past year I just figured out the conscious awareness I had in my sleep was called Lucid Dreaming. I lucid dream about 1 or 2 times a week and it only lasts a few minutes until I become unconscious again or fall asleep within my sleep. Does that make sense?
I'm a restless sleeper so the lucid dreaming is probably an affect of my disturbed sleeping patterns.

Everyone who talks about their lucid dreams say they're wonderful, but for me mostly everytime I'm in a period of lucidity my world/body is out of control. In many cases my room is strangely warped and distorted or it can be perfectly normal. The physical sensations I feel are the most frightening of all.
In most incidents I feel like I'm being pulled or shaken to death. Last night I had my most intense experience with this. When I became aware that I was lucid I told myself that I had control and it was ok. When I realize I'm in a lucid state my first instinct is panic but lastnight I actually calmed myself down a bit. I told myself I was going to float up, and this is something that's never happened before. When I commanded myself I actually began to float up and the shaking sensation was only momentary this time. It was very pleasant but then all of a sudden as I floated up I was in some kind of grip that started to spin me so fast I was flung out of bed. After that I transitioned into a short dream and then woke up right away.

I felt as though my physical body was flung out of bed and I could feel myself hit the floor but I was in bed when I woke up so that couldn't have happened.
The weird sensations have happened so many times and I thought I could handle them but now it's taking on another form. In the past I never actually moved anywhere I just felt like I was being shook and I always remained in once place, but lastnight I was actually tossed and spun around the room. What is happening to me? Was that my soul being thwarted around the room? I'm scared to sleep now.

Scorpbaby, do not be scared. You are not alone in this kind of experience. Already you have taken the first steps towards control, and you have succeeded. Keep doing exactly what you are doing, and you will gain more control each time ... more or less. You are experiencing through the astral body, and nothing can truly harm you in that state. To go back to your body, simply think it ... thought manifests your experience in the astral, instantly. Floating around the room is a great place to start experimenting and learning about this ability that can truly be a gift.

Scorpbaby, I can relate, and truly, I believe in what Ra has just said.

I began having lucid dreams, and I was awake in a boat with my sister, it was filling up with water and I didn't know what to do, I was there, and in that moment I knew I was going to die. I've never felt that much anxiety in my life, but as soon as it was all too much, I came back. And obviously I was afraid to sleep again.

Nothing can physically harm you, and it's only moments before you can think yourself back when you desire to do so.

Thankyou Ra and Neostar,

Wow this whole experience has really left me breathtaken, very enlightening. Lastnight after I posted this I looked up some info on Lucid dreaming, and a part of the article described exactly what I went through but the description was of an OOBE!
All along I thought I was having Lucid dreams when in fact they were OOBE's.

The article described exactly what I went through...and explained that before we leave our bodies there's a pulsating/shaking sensation and after that we float up and spin on an axis of some type... Also it described that we see the objects and surroundings of the place we are sleeping and not a dreamlike scene...
Ever since my experience the other night I've felt very nervous and anxious, like I was still somewhat detached from my physical body. I can still feel the aftermath of the OOBE like it could happen at any moment.

Something I found weird was that for the past 3 weeks I've had a lot of ringing in my ears and often go into dizzy spells or Vertigo. This feeling is so much like the one during the OOBe it made me wonder if my body has been preparing me for it in the past weeks

You are doing everything exactly right. Keep reading. Yes, you are going out-of-body, and the experience you describe is rather classic. The more you read, the more you will recognize and the more you will understand what this experience is.

Now that you know you were out-of-body, what do you think? And what do you feel?

Hello Ra
Sorry I haven't gotten back to this post...it's Finals Week
I'm still so fascinated by this whole experience and amazed to discover that OOB'e were something I've experienced for many years now but didn't know. I actually asked my Mom if she could bring me to a neurologist to run tests when I sleep!ha
I would love to know the cause of OOBe's and why I've had so many of them...I'm just in shock with myself. Maybe it's a physical or psychic over-sensitivity to surroundings? I've always felt I had otherworldly dream experiences and have been prone to precognitive dream. But would never have imagined this...

I haven't had another full OOB experience but ever since the last one, when I'm really tired & at the brink falling asleep the 1st stage of the OOB sensations begin (paralyzed limbs and pulsating sensation) but then I just fall right asleep.
The feeling reminds me so much of one of those "trick handbuzzers". It's very uncomfortable but I'm less bothered by it now that I know.

If I make it a little passed the pulsating stage w/o falling asleep, I have sight and can see everything in my room. I remember before my vision sets in there are greyish swirls and white dots, they remind me of atoms seen under a microscope. They swirl around so fast, they are all I can see, but then after a while they settle down and I can see the view of my bedroom. I really need to know more there's so much I don't understand Thankyou for suggesting that book too. Now I'll have to make another christmas gift request for myself! lol

Well I did some more online research one site mentioned that high strung or nervous people are likely to have OB experiences...Well that explains it in my case!

Another thing I've thought a lot about since this, and after reflecting on past experiences. There is a man whom I met last year and feel a great affinity with. He has appeared to me during several of my lucid dreams and astral projections. Sometimes I'm certain these are only lucid dreams... but then other times he is in my bed and I can feel a body next to me, everything is as it should look in reality, and feels exactly like an OBE. In his presence there is such a warmth and fulfillment that I've never experienced before. I don't know what binds us, maybe only my imagination but whatever it it's powerful. We have talked and flirted a bit in the past but most of our communication is subtle or unspoken, yet there is comfort. Even before I spoke to him one on one he appeared to me in a dream. When I finally did speak to him the connection I felt with him in the dream was the same in reality. I thought maybe I had just picked up a vibe when I first saw him and then in my dreams he appeared, but I still don't know. What do you make of this?

I think you are a fortunate girl. Your experiences mirror those of so many others, including my own. As you read about it, you will see what I mean. I have about a dozen books or more on my shelf that are about OBEs and related situations (let me know if you want any more titles) and each of them contain some element of your experiences. Reading about it is actually a good way to stimulate one, especially if you have already had the experience.

It can be a great opportunity. Already you see the world differently because of it, and you can continue to expand yourSelf, your perception, and your awareness through it.

Have as much fun as possible.

Oh, and the guy ... sounds like something's up, but that is for you to determine. Have fun.
