About 2 nights ago I had a very disturbing dream. I was in a ghetto of the city I'm from. At first I was walking in a very dangerous area at night but I wasn't scared only cautious.

Then somehow I was at the top of a hill above the ghetto, and it was day time. I looked down upon an amuesment park that was along side a polluted and stagnant river. The park was there only for the inner city kids to use and they were all black. The rides were poorly constructed and went too fast and as each kid got on the ride they were eventually flung out to there death. For some reason I could do nothing but watch in horror on top of the hill. There was nothing I could do to save them, and apparently the people that built the park didn't care because it just kept happening over and over. The details of the dream were very bloody and made my stomach turn.

I don't know why I dreamt about this and can't seem to relate any of it to my life. I live on the outside of a big city but I'm in the suburbs and have never seen such injustice, exept for maybe on tv and news.

Hello scorpbaby

I'll look more closely when I get a chance, but two quick things catch my attention (which you probably already thought of) that could answer some questions. "Dangerous area" and "injustice". Could these apply in your life in some way? 'Danger' could also be seen as 'threat' or 'cautious', as you said. There could also be something here about feeling helpless in some way.

Any of that ring a bell?

Hi Ra
Yes I had thought about how this could represent me somehow, but it's strange because I haven't felt victimized in any recent situation. In the past I have felt I was the martyr but that had a lot to do with family issues.

There was a lot of emphasis on the kids being black, which is strange because I'm not a black person. The dream just doesn't seem to fit. At the end I was on top of the hill, so that could mean I reached some "higher" understanding...but of what? I've always been very turned off by injusttice of any kind (blame the stelliums of Libra/ Scorp in my chart!) I just don't get it.

If this is not about 'injustice' or 'danger' in your life, then could it be a reflection of your perspective on social issues? Politics? Was anything like that on your mind before the dream?

Even if so, there is some sort of connection with your inner/personal life, else you would not have dreamt it. Looking at the symbols from this perspective, I would say you are right about a "higher" understanding, a knowledge of a bigger picture, and it could be indicated that this has to do with issues or problems on a personal level which have not been resolved (black children) ... you are aware of the issues (daytime) and can see them in the context of the bigger picture (on hill) but feel helpless in ultimately resolving them. The river can symbolize life energies which have become "stagnant" and "polluted", connecting well with the possible "unresolved problems/issues" mentioned before.

Any of that make sense?

Thankyou Ra, I understand much of the symbolism that you wrote of. But still can't find it resonating in my personal life. There is something interesting though..because I just realized February is black history month! Maybe my soul wanted me to be very conscious of this for whatever reason that I don't know of yet.
Sometimes my dreams seem largely impersonal to me. I can usually feel right away when a dream is about my personal life, and can understand most of the symbolism.

But then other dreams it as though I'm watching a play just observing people and situations that have nothing to do with me. I have impersonal dream almost as frequently as I have personal ones with significant meaning in my life. It could be a projection of inner workings but wouldn't I recognize them then.
Maybe it's a receptiveness to environment and all the "observing" (bad habit) I do during the day is given more depth. Does that make sense? I'm confusing myself a bit today.

Makes perfect sense. Okay, so the dream may not relate to your personal life, but there is still a reason you dreamt it. Perhaps it is to help become more aware of the forces at work in the social arena and what they are doing. In this light, I will say that your dream reflects my own personal perspective on blacks and black children in particular as they are handled/treated by the government, and the forces behind government ... "conspiracy" stuff, you know? Maybe this is what your dream was about.
