The other night I had this out-there dream that in the student union of my college a group of Mormans came and had a worship service! I don't mean regular Mormans, these were 1860s Utah Mormans, wearing bonnets and long skirts. They saw me in the door and dragged me in and let me sit through their service, although they looked at me as if I were very strange...It was probably one of the weirdest dreams I ever had.IP: Logged |

Scary. Hello LLL Have you felt particularly out of place recently in some situation? I'll give it some more thought as soon as I can. IP: Logged |

I rarely feel out of place anymore; once and a while I do, but it's not the same "out of place" feeling as the one I had with the Mormans.IP: Logged |

Back to the top. I don't want this to slip down too far! I'll be back, LLL. IP: Logged |

Oh don't worry Ra, I think I figured it out. The recent emergence of the religious right, how they impose their beliefs, and how they would rather go back in time than forward all really scare me, and I think it translated into my bizzare dream. IP: Logged |

I think you are absolutely right (so to speak ). That makes perfect sense. Thank you for explaining it, and thank you for sharing your dream. I am curious, why Mormons? Do you associate them with fundamentalism, or as being overbearing/imposing? Why not Jehovah's Witnesses? (no offense to any out there) IP: Logged |

I'm not sure why it was Mormons exactly, but I always had the feeling that fundamentalist, polygamist Mormons think that their way is the only way.IP: Logged |

Well, even though they believe, basically, 'to each their own', meaning that 'they respect that we all have free will', they do believe that 'their way is the only way'.Or so they did the last time I was a part of them, that being for 7 years, ending 19 years ago. IP: Logged |
