Hello Ra, I wanted to have your opinion on this because I know we discussed it before. My Lucid dreams are getting completely scary again. I'm in my bed and I can see everything in my room as it is, but there are all these weird things going on. This one incident happened during a nap today and I desperately wanted to wake up from this but couldn't. First of all, as I laid in my bed I looked in front of me and saw my eyes staring back. It was like I was looking into some type of invisible mirror. That didn't really scare me but at that point I realized I was in a lucid state. Then there were these shadowy things everywhere in my room moving around. They started to shake me, and there was a noise that sounded like a buzz saw. The shaking sensation was the same as the OOB experience I had a few months ago. But this time it was like I was under attack, something was trying to pull me out of body. After struggling, I stayed in body. Is this just my overactive imagination at work or malicious spirits?...I dont know if I really believe in that but this experience has made me reconsider. I realize now that I'm an ultra sensitive dreamer, and person. Lately my psychic dreams have been very active, almost to the point where it's making me feel worn out. Like I'm not getting any rest, but constantly channeling information in my sleep. Is there something I can do to calm this erratic energy? I feel like I need some type of psychic protection. OK... I just found some things online about sleep paralysis and similar experiences were documented. Research has found that sleep paralysis causes hallucinations during a lucid state, the hallucinations were mostly perceived as evil and threatening. It was also reported that many people with sleep paralysis experience, Narcolepsy. That's one sleeping condition I don't have...IP: Logged |

Reminds me of a story, I think told by Robert Monroe. He had a nearly identical experience. I'll have to look it up and see what the cause turned out to be ... he did find out, and it was not nearly as bad as it felt when it happened. As I recall, it had more to do with his own thought projections. You see, later in his experiences he was taken to "help" an individual who was having some sort of astral trouble ... turned out to be himself, in the past, at the very time he was being "attacked" by these shadowy energies, although he did not make that realization until after he had actually gone and helped himself (past self) get out of his own body. His past self, or the one being currently tormented, percieved the expereince as something trying to pull him out of his body, and it was not a pleasant experience (because of his own fear). Little did he know that it was himself, trying to help himself. Anyway, I just want you to know that this has happened to others, and they are doing just fine, they made it through this stage in the experience. Keep reading, especially good OBE literature. It is difficult to conceive, but when in the astral experience, your thoughts and imagination control everything, so you can "banish" any unwanted energies/images/etc. with a simple thought. And nothing can harm you. IP: Logged |

Thanks again Ra. The shadow could have been me, maybe that was what was happening. In lucid states I'm always anxious and then I end up scaring myself, as I get more scared my imagination just runs wild with hallucinations. I'll have to remember that I'm in control of it all, like you said. I've been meditating more often before I fall asleep, and I tell myself that in my next lucid or OOB experience I will remember to chant "OM". That always calms me down in meditation and I'm hoping it will work when this happens again. I also still need to read those books! IP: Logged |

Books will help. I don't know if the shadow was you or not, there are several possibilities. I just want you to know that it need not be 'bad', that there are explanations other than the classic "demons". Happy traveling IP: Logged | |
