Bizarre dream last night. I was in Africa, working as an aide to a high ranking government official/ king type person. There was an ambush that was going to take place, we were preparing to be invaded by militant insurgents... and I was terrified. I wanted to run off, to leave and save myself, so I decide I will take the daughter of the 'king' with me into hiding, that way I am assured not having to fight, I can just escape. But I also know that if we are found, we will be killed. We take off down into the basements and cellars of the houses, through endless rooms with lots of doors, looking for a secret place to hide, some place with no windows and lots of things to cover us and hide us. We stopped in a room, but the door was busted open and there were the soldiers with guns pointing at us... about to shoot, then it started all over again. Looking for a place to hide... like in a video game, it kept resetting when we would get caught. Finally, we escaped into a dark dungeon room and the soldiers went past us... then I woke up. It seems rather obvious, that I'm running away from something to protect myself, not dealing with a situation head on, that kind of thing, but I'm wondering if there is anything more I should be aware of. Thanks in advance if you can shed some light... Ghani IP: Logged |

Hello Ghani So, are you "running away from something to protect myself, not dealing with a situation head on"? Th dream suggests that there is a good degree of anxiety concerning the situation, that you are weighing your options, and that you would feel better if you could forget about it or otherwise push it out of your mind (basement/cellar). But this is not working, the problem/situation will not let you hide from it. That is, until you find the "dungeon" room ... I'm not yet sure what this means, but it seems to be the only safe place. Kind of an odd place to feel safe in, really, from a symbolic viewpoint. Any idea? What does a dungeon mean to you? What do you think? IP: Logged |

Thanks for responding, Ra!As far as dungeons go, they don't scare me too much in waking life, I find them really interesting, especially if they are really old, like the one we ended up in. I guess there is a situation that I wish would just go away on it's own, without me having to deal with all the drama that will come of it in reality. Something that I tried to avoid, but found myself in anyways... a pattern of my life in a way, one that I have been swearing I would change for some time. This time in my life is very complicated and confusing, I feel like I am constantly on the edge of falling off a cliff. (that sounds so melodramatic, I'm sure) Like, everything is extreme, extreme happiness, extreme sadness, extreme anxiety, extreme feelings of loss... etc... I can't quite put my finger on what the causes for these feelings are, all I can grasp right now is that a major change is on the horizon, like either the 'big' end of something, or the 'big' beginning... And these daily thoughts are invading my dreams now and causing me more anxiousness and making me take everything in that happens everyday (even those teeny, tiny little nothings of everyday life) and over analyze... I know I have it in me to get through this time and come out of it wiser and more dedicated to my path, it just seems like all my fears are manifesting in dream life, and let me tell you, the not sleeping very well thing is getting a bit tedious... Whew... hehe, sorry, just kind of rambled there.... IP: Logged |

Try not to sweat the small stuff, Ghani. I know, easier said than done, but seriously ...... things will get better. What is your Sun/moon/rising? (just curious) IP: Logged |

Yeah, and I'm the queen of telling other people not to stress out! Ha! Easier said than done, indeed, eh? I'm an Aqua sun/Leo moon/Aries rising. That sun-moon opposition is a very prominent part of my personality; constant internal struggle against myself, what with my rebellious Uranian sun always doing battle with my Leo (ruled by the sun) moon. Ever meet a walking paradox? It's wicked fun. Thanks, Ra. Ghani IP: Logged | |
