The dream:
I was at an apartment that I was aware I was sharing with other people. It was an upstairs apt. with porches and railings both in front and in back. The only rooms I remember "seeing" in the dream are my bedroom, a bathroom, a closet,a large common room, a foyer off the back entry, the front balcony, and the back stairs and deck. In the dream, I was aware that I had to attend some function where I would need to dress appropriately. It seems as if it was either a wedding or a funeral. I thought to myself that my Birkenstocks would probably not be acceptable. (these are sandals that I wear everyday, socks in winter-no socks in summer) I looked into the closet and saw that my friend had dumped a lot of her shoes out of a box and onto the floor. I knew none of her shoes would fit me because her feet are very small. I wondered if I still had those old biege pumps, then decided I'd better get into the shower. People were beginning to arrive at the apt. as if it were a gathering place prior to the event we were to attend. When I went into my bedroom I found that my friend had replaced my beautiful comforter with a Disney 101 Dalmations comforter. I told her that was just ridiculous...and she said that there had been a spill of some kind and this was all she could find. I was upset that she had dumped her shoes into my closet and that now she was changing things in my bedroom, but I said ok fine I'm going to shower. She asked if I could get some grapes out of her car first. I started to protest but then noticed that a young couple was in the bathroom, he shaving and she applying make-up, so I went down to get the grapes.
On the way back up the stairs I was talking to a young man whom I thought beared a strong resimblance to a friend's son. I thought he must be a cousin. When we reached the top of the stairs the man went into the apt. I noticed another man doing some sort of acrobatics on the deck. I told him he was quite good and he said he was just a beginner. I didn't seem to think that it was strange at all, but it did seem to make me dizzy, so I grabbed onto the rail to steady myself. When I did the rail began to bend as if it were rubber. I was afraid it would snap so I let go and it went right back into place.
Inside the apt, I took the plastic bag filled with red grapes to my friend. I then went back to the bathroom and found the couple getting ready to drink some esspresso. I suggested they take their coffee out to the balcony and they agreed. I went into the bathroom locked both doors and woke up.What does it all mean????  IP: Logged |

Hello Saturn's Child  I'll have a closer look when I get a chance, but it sure seems like you are having issues with this friend. Maybe nothing major, but those little things add up. And if it is not your friend, then she represents someone else. Do you feel ill-equipped to handle some situation? Are you doubting yourself or feeling self-conscious about your abilities? Do you feel like a certain relationship (like the friend) is about to transform? Or that maybe you are out-growing it? ... just a few questions to get my bearings.  IP: Logged |

Hello Ra, thanks for your quik response, and yes, I do absolutely feel ill equiped and have self doubts about a couple of things I want to attempt! You are right on!And the friend thing..yes someone I thought to be a best friend & I have had some bad times...very much on the outs..but I had hoped I had grown past it....maybe not, hmmm. Hello Saturn's Child Well, there is not much to add here. I think we hit on the basics ... it seems that the issue with the friend have not quite been cleared/cleansed (unable to use bathroom at first), but you are in the process of doing so (finally get in). Maybe you are still holding on to the possibility that things will "bear fruit" (grapes) ... it just seems that you feel as if you are doing all the work. Is this friend situation related to your feelings of self-doubt or being ill-equipped? IP: Logged | |
