I was at this Democratic fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. I think it was also her birthday. I was in politics somehow but I'm not sure exactly what I did. I knew Hillary, though. The fundraiser was just getting underway and there were all sorts of people there and a lot of other politicians. Out of nowhere this guy stands up and goes to the center of the room where Hillary was going to speak. Everyone else was sitting down preparing to hear her speech all all attention turned to him. Hillary looked confused but she let him speak. He was very charismatic and gracious and he started addressing the crowd after being very polite to Hillary and telling her he would only take a few moments of everyone's time.
He announced he'd be running against Hillary for the Democratic nomination for the 2008 Presidential election. The crowd was shocked and murmuring to each other. I was sitting there thinking "Wow this is history!"
He began explaining his politics and how his campaign and his whole career was based on honesty and that he wouldn't pull anyone's leg about anything. The thing that was different about him was that he was really telling the truth. He insisted he wouldn't just tell anyone what they wanted to hear but exactly what was really happening.
He was causing quite a stir with all the people there and some of them were asking him questions about certain political issues. He started to walk around the room through the seated people as they asked him. He walked by me and I was trying not to stare at him but he was so self-assured - he had such magnetism. He was tall, fair skinned with black hair and he was wearing a very sharp suit.
I got up and went to the ladies' room to clear my head. I fixed my lipstick some and went back out and was surprised to find the man standing there waiting for me. The rest of the fundraiser was on its way the way it was origininally intended. Hillary was talking to the crowd although many of them were still thinking of the new man that had just spoken to them.
I greeted him and his eyes were very intense but his demeanor was so warm. He told me his last name was Atwater and when he said it I got a vision that I knew came from him. I was swimming through the ocean, underwater in very blue clear water with coral reefs and I knew this was where he was from and why he was named Atwater. I talked to him some about political issues and he seemed so genuine I got excited over the idea of him running for President in '08.
We walked back into the main room and the speeches were over and the fundraiser was running down. Many people had left but there were still some press and a few politicians still speaking to one another. Someone came up with a camera to take a picture of Atwater and he put his arm around my shoulder like we were old friends to pose for the photo.
I said something about his wife and he told me he wasn't married. For some reason this shocked me more than anything else. "What?! You're not married and you're running for President?? That just doesn't happen!"
He thought that was really funny and he told me a lot of things just don't happen that will start happening now that he was around and he would tell me all about it. I saw Hillary walking around trying to keep a happy face but her eyes were red and tear-stained. She came over to us and took pictures with me and hugged me since I knew her and she tried to be civil to Atwater but it was difficult for her.
She left and Atwater told me he had a lot to tell me about his upcoming administration. I woke up.

And always I think where we might have gone If we'd never met inside this song
Our names are enciphered But the words became true
When I was the sun and you, you were the moon
And there were the stars That helped to navigate our souls
