Does anyone know what murder and death signifies in dreams? Is it that cut and dry or does it matter the situation as well. I've had 3 dreams with the threat of murder in them, 1 by someone from my past who I was frightened was going to pull a gun on me (he didn't, but he had such intense hate in his face); then I had a dream about a shadowy man with a gun lurking in the stairways where I worked and I escaped the workplace (a hospital) and ended up in this forbidden village I was told NOT to go to because of so many mysterious deaths (plague-like pattern); then another one had a character from a book I read who was threatened to have his brain taken out but he escaped that and was instead sent to be pilot in a brand new experimental helicopter, and wound up being shot point-blank in the back of the head before he could lift off the ground. Hello vtt Murder and death usually indicate change of some kind, and not actual murder and death. From what you have written there are suggestions of anxiety, hostility, perhaps anger towards you, and probably change/transition. Where is the change occurring in your life? At home, at work? Change feels like it's everywhere right now! I just started a new job, had a not-so-friendship friendship totally end last week, and know that I'm off to college in 2 months. I should be dreaming of LOTS of murders and death for awhile! Haha! I think the hostility/anger has to deal with the friendship and another person I'm having problems with. Thanks! IP: Logged |

That makes a lot of sense! It's the anxiety associated with the changes that sometimes make dreams this way, with murder and death. Maybe we will see, as the anxieties wear off, more of your dreams with growth oriented, more 'positive' symbols. IP: Logged |

Hey VTT, hi Ra Thought I'd drop by because I've also been having really 'intense' dreams recently in which I've been actively involved in - like a film. The next night I'll usually catch up where I left off, like I've been taken to - or reliving a scenario. Some of them are quite disturbing. Thanks for bringing this up anyway VTT ~ it's answered something to an extent ------------------ "The best of love, peace of mind and happiness I wish for you." Jimi Hendrix IP: Logged |

Sheaa, I'm so glad my question helped you! It is so weird because my dreams about murder have become more intense and frequent...last night I dreamt a dark, mysterious entity was being murdered 4 times last night! How freakin crazy is that?! IP: Logged |

Hello Sheaa I'm sorry, I never saw your response. Any improvements since last week? What kind of stress/anxiety are you dealing with? VTT ... looks like those anxieties aren't wearing off yet.

Yeah, those anxieties might not wear off until August if they are surrounding my job situation, so I may be having murder dreams well through July! Yuck! I was also starting to wonder if those dreams have to do with a hidden part of myself as well, the dark entity in my dreams being the hidden part of myself and me wanting to kill it. !At least this morning was a refuge from the killing dreams, instead I got lost in Vermont LOL! "I was also starting to wonder if those dreams have to do with a hidden part of myself as well, the dark entity in my dreams being the hidden part of myself and me wanting to kill it. !"Totally. However, I would say that consciously you may naturally want to "kill it", but subconsciously you are avoiding it, or as you put it "I escaped". And there is also something to the fact that in all three of those dreams the other person/figure is a man. Masculine aspects? Father? Another male figure in your life or from your past? Or is it simply generally symbolic of fear, an "aggressive" fear?

I think you are definitely right with subconsciously wanting to avoid it! I think the masculinity of the figure has to do with my masculine side...it's pretty strong to begin with, but lately I have just wanted to be so aggressive. So maybe even that is part of myself as well! IP: Logged |
