Hi I am new to this site so hello to everyone.I think dreams are wonderful. I have had many dreams that have answered questions for me etc. I have also had quite a few dreams that tell me future events. My question is does anyone know how to tell if a dream is prophetic or not? I have had only one prophetic dream that I knew was probably going to happen but overall I just have to wait and see. The reason I am interested in this is I had a relationship with a guy that broke up a couple of months ago. I ended the relationship and was sooooo angry with him. I dreamt that he came up behind me at work and put his arm around me and then we were in a different part of the building dancing around and around. It was probably the best dream I have ever had. The emotions that I felt were overwhelming love, happiness and joy. I usually don't have dreams with such powerful emotions within them. In real life it would be almost impossible for us to ever get back together, too much water under the bridge....but I still love him. Maybe that is what the dream was telling me??? IP: Logged |

Welcome! ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

Hello Cathy!I have prophetic dreams regularly and have since childhood. I can tell that a dream is prophetic by the way it makes me feel both during the dream and after I awake. There is a unsettling feeling like a secret that was shared with the wrong person. I can recall these dreams with total acuracy. I also get a unsettleing feeling when I am around the person I dreamed about or when I think about them. I know that sometimes when I dream about a person it is to give me a warning about something that is happening in their life at that time or is about to happen....it always has an effect on me in my waking life. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. How do you feel about what you felt and saw during the dream? Do you feel that it may have been a dream that he was having? Hope that helped some. Hello Cathy Are you missing the feelings of "overwhelming love, happiness and joy" in waking life? Your dream could be compensating for a lack of these in waking life, or it could be that you simply long for those moments, those feelings. Then again, if you feel it could be prophetic ... who knows? I do not know how to tell, but Irish seems to have some idea. What do you think? IP: Logged |

Hi Irish, Magus and RaThanks for your input. In our relationship there was a certain amount of keeping the relationship discreet. We work together for one. (though not at the moment, but I will be going back there)In the dream when he put his arm around me I was thinking that he shouldn't be doing this in front of people we work with. That we had to stay hidden. What would people think? He did not care. It was like he wanted to be public, very public. Then I thought OK I won't hide either. One thing that does worry me is the first thought I had about him when I woke. The dream was so vivid I felt his soul or spirit was there with me. It was so powerful. My first thought when I woke up was that he had died and come to say goodbye. Cathy

Somet dreams are like sex. Now do you remember every orgasms. No don't take each dream seriously. They can be discarded. Thats my perspective, I am not a scholar.

Cathy-It sounds like you have had a dream that is showing you what you fear about the relationship. The fact that you want to be with him and yet you do not want co-workers to know (and who would) shows that this dream is about a desire to not have a this relationship hidden from others. Since you also mentioned that you felt he was with you when you awoke it leads me to believe that the feeling was where to remind you of the dream so you could recall it and work through it. Hope that helps some... Irish IP: Logged |

Yes Irish ...you are awsome and probably right. I have decided that I will consult a psychic about this situation because it has really affected me. My appoinment is a week and a half away. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and wisdom. IP: Logged |
