About a week ago I dreamed that I was at a skating rink with my best friend who's name is Katelyn. We were sitting on a bed that was on the carpeted area of the skating rink. We were just talking about her crush, David, and then he happened to walk in.

I stood up and David and me were going towards each other. He held his arms out so I would give him a hug, but instead of hugging we danced. I knew that I shouldn't have been dancing with him in front of Katelyn since she liked him, but I did anyway.

All of the sudden everything sort of disappeared around us, except Katelyn was still sitting on the bed which was about 5 feet away.

In real life I DONT like David, hardly even as a friend; but in my dream I felt like I loved him.

In the background, music from maybe the 1920's was playing and we just kept dancing. Katelyn looked very upset.

At the end of the song, David and me looked at each other while still in the same position, and I playfully went in to kiss him, but he just smiled and turned his head. Then he turned back and looked at me and I tried to kiss him again but he turned away.

Katelyn really is my best friend and she has practically been in love with David for as long as I can remember. The reason why this dream is so strange is because I have never even thought of David and me being together, and I wouldn't go behind my friends like that. Also because I can only remember about four of the dreams I have ever had.

Does anybody know what this dream could symbolize?

Interesting dream. There are several different possibilities that I can think of ... the dream could be about sexuality, freindship dynamics, guilt, personal boundaries ... maybe a few questions would help narrow things down.

Have you done something lately that you shouldn't have?

Do you feel the need for attention or love?

Have sex and related boundaries been on your mind? (not necessarily involving David )

Have you and Katelyn been in any arguments/disagreements lately?

Any other thoughts?

To answer all of your questions, no.
I did read somewhere that if you dream about dancing with someone you have deep feelings for them.

"Maybe I do" ... that's a long way from, "I DONT like David" ... don't you think?

Yes, it could be that you have some feelings for him on some level, or maybe just curiousity, and you know how revealing this would affect your friend (all on a subconscious level). But there seems to be something more to this dream, perhaps a message or insight into karmic energies between you two, or maybe three. It's the last scene which leads me to that thought ...

It could be that in this life you need (market) to balance (orange) those karmic energies which have "extended" (extension cord) from past life into present ... the "price" (pay) for ignoring your conscience is a "long line" in which to wait, a repeat of the karmic cycle.

Does this make sense?

So there could be something karmic between you and Katelyn, concerning relationships or trust/respect, that needs to be worked out. Maybe she hurt you in a past life, or maybe you hurt her ... what do you think?

Well I still don't like him. And she still does. But her and I don't have any arguments or anything in 'real-life'. The part that you said about past lives could be right though because we were great friends when we first met...I am almost sure I knew her in a past life, though.That is a very good reasoning .
