Topic: an old boyfriend's funeral

It was a strange dream. An old boyfriend had died and was in his casket for the burial mass. I was crying and telling the mouners it wasn't him in the casket that he was alive. I pushed my way to the front to gaze upon him and it really was he. Feeling of despair and lament filled me upon realization.IP: Logged |

Do you still have feelings for him and hope you'll be together again?If you do then probably your dream means that this time he really 'died' for you and there is no turning back. If you are just friends with him, maybe there is something that makes you worry about him or he has changed somehow or started a new life or something like that. P.S. I dreamt of my brother's funeral a week before he was getting married

Good points, Peri.Hello Celeste  What exactly do you mean by "old boyfriend"? Is this someone you still think about, associate with, or relate to in some way? Because the dream could be about the old relationship, as Peri said, or it could be symbolic of something much different, some other situation/issue that has the potential for "despair and lament ... upon realization", and for change (death/casket). I really think its about the relationship. It ended four years ago and was the most life changing relationship. I feel we knew each other from another life. I wasn't ready for it and I ran away from it through wrongful actions. Today we are both married to other people, but from time to time I still remember. We ended things on a bad note and I decided I wanted closure, to let it go. I wrote him a good-bye letter in my journal, and the next night I had that dream. Last night I dreamt of speaking to an old friend, with was really him in disguise. I wonder if this is a part of the closure and healign process or if I opened up a Pandora's box.......IP: Logged |

I suppose I should be more clear ... I am inclined to believe it is about healing, about closure. You are releasing the last bit that remains "alive" between you, and it is difficult. Forgive yourself and forgive him, and this dream will for sure be about the healing. IP: Logged |
