Hey everyone,

Had a disturbing dream last night. It involved water and almost drowning. I was with a group of friends and we went to the beach. But it was more of an inlay surrounded by a concrete pier and then cliffs opposite it with rocks in the middle. But what was most striking was the colours and weather. The water was spurting what looked like volcanic spurts of steam and the water because of a sunset was brown red colour. still, when i dived into the water i thought i would be safe - however, a huge wave swept me away and I fought to save myself and my friends. I pulled myself up to the concrete pier but was hanging by a rope. I had a choice then - to either let myself sink into the water or not. I chose to save myself...

what do you think?

Hello SparklingSag

Thak you for your patience.

This dream suggests that there is some sort of "volatile" unconscious or emotional material emerging from within, into your life (volcanic bursts of steam out of water). It is perhaps also suggested that this "erupting" material is in it's ending stages, that this activity is coming to an end (sunset). You may not have realized exactly what you were getting into (thought water was safe, dived in), but quickly understand as you are overwhelmed by emotional energies (wave swept you away). This issue/situation leaves you feeling as if you are "hanging by a rope", precarious, uncertain. Your choice? To persevere, to "save yourself", rather than giving in or giving up.

What issue/situation in your life fits these conditions?

Dear Ra,
Thanks for taking the time to give me an insight. I guess I have one major emotional thing going on (which have been going on for last year)

1) relationship with mother about absent father. I recently returned from months abroad. I thought mum would have got over it a bit but no. So my first day at home I was disappointed.

So, i want it to end...and the colours and volcanic steam bursts in my dream I hope were cleansing the situation....

Makes sense. It would then seem that the colours indicate the stage of the issue, the ending stages (sunset/brown-red). And the dream seems to be telling you to hold on just a bit longer, that either the issue will end, or you will somehow no longer be bothered by it, you will choose to extricate yourself from the emotional chaos, to overcome it.

Thanks Ra - I would agree with that.

Well it would be an emotional relief if the end is near.
