Hello...I'm hoping someone may have some insights about this dream.I was walking on a single track railway line (I have recurring dreams about railways) kinda like a miniature railway one. It was very narrow, just wide enough to walk on. It was also on top of deep, indigo water. Calm water though. I don't remember seeing any land. The sky looked odd too. It might have been blue...or white. I couldn't see a sun. The light seemed a bit odd, but I did feel like I was outdoors. As I was walking, I noticed that the next part of the track was under the water. This concerned me. I don't think it was deeply under, but when I went to walk on it, there were whales in the way. Somehow, I just didn't want to touch them. I tried...but it made me feel uncomfortable. They felt somehow slimey and repulsive to me, even though I knew they weren't. I knew they were large, gentle creatures. Someone was telling me that it was ok...I've no idea who though. The only way forward was to make physical contact with the whales. Then I woke up. Many thanks in advance

Hello Medusa, welcome This dream suggests that you feel as if your life path is "narrow", without much going on except what is directly in front of you, or that you feel you can do nothing but maintain your present, unchanging course ... and/or that you fear looking too much within yourself. There is a vague sense of insecurity or lack of foundation within you (no land in sight), and you are unclear as to what your higher purpose is (odd sky/no sun/odd light). But, as the saying goes, still waters run deep (calm, deep water), and there is something for you to confront just below the surface, within your subconscious, waiting for you to acknowledge. It must be near time to do this, as you did proceed to walk into the water, and your guide was with you, supporting you. I'll come back later and explain what I feel the whales mean. Does this resonate with you so far? IP: Logged |

Thank you. Yes, it does resonate with me. I'm somewhere I don't want to be, and I'm trying to escape. It sounds a bit dramatic, I guess. I'm not in any danger - except perhaps the danger of becoming a total non-entity/drudge. I don't really know exactly where it is I'm heading either, but "anywhere but here" sounds great to me. I've had many dreams of train stations, railway lines, and - for some reason I've never fully understood - the number ten. Recently, shoes have been recurring in my dreams too. One day I may look back on all of these strange dreams and perhaps laugh, but right now, as I have had many prophetic dreams in the past, I'm taking all of my dreams rather more seriously. I'd love to hear what you feel about whales. IP: Logged |

The meaning of the whales is two-fold. First, they can represent contact with unconscious material, sometimes through intuition, which keeps in tune with what I speculated before. Second, these whales represent something that is usually "gentle", nurturing and caring in nature, but they are something you perceive as being "slimey and repulsive", making you feel "uncomfortable". Why is this? Something "good" makes you feel "bad".I get the feeling that this may have roots in your childhood, that some experience twisted your perception of what would normally be gentle and nurturing. I have some idea, but also get the feeling that this is something you need to discover and acknowledge on your own. You said, "The only way forward was to make physical contact with the whales." Which means ... The only way to move on with your life's purpose is to consciously deal with this unconscious material. Does this mean anything to you? Walk in Peace IP: Logged | |
