This has had me stumped for a while. I frequently dream of coming across new rooms in my house (it's not always the same house and usually a composite of the many houses I've lived in.) *The rooms are always familiar, as though I'm returning. *They are often strangely constructed-- not like any room I've encountered in real life-- such as a really tiny doorway I have to crawl through, or odd shapes to the room, different floor levels within one room, etc. *I always have a strong urge to explore these rooms. *Something always stops me, usually a person who needs me to go somewhere else with them. Lately, these dreams have taken a twist, and the houses are usually haunted and I have to stay out of the rooms because ghosts are guarding them and looking for me. During these dreams I feel such an urge to explore, like there are answers in the rooms that I need for my personal/spiritual growth. These dreams are difficult to explain, and if anyone wants to help me sort through them, I'd be happy to supply any additional info. IP: Logged |

Fututre Uncertain : I had dreams just few weeks back and I can relate to them. The house is your mind and rooms in your case can be ideas ,values or your point of view how you see the world. OR Parts of your life like personal, professional, spiritual, love, etc. You are curious to explore them and know them but maybe " ghost " that is your old beliefs stop you form exploring them. The doors are small because you have to bend your head and your self to learn something in order to know them. When you would learn thus you would get answers which are secrets of room which would eventually help for your personal /spiritual growth. It is of change in beliefs and personal growth.Remove what isn't working. Hope it helps. I see it this way as I had same kind of dreams. I can sit and tell how many lessons I learnt in past few months or weeks.

Rediscovering rooms are rediscovering some part of yourself and Ghosts are fears and old beliefs.IP: Logged |

This is the only logical conclusion I could draw from these dreams, but somehow they just don't feel right. But since you've mentioned it,too, I'll take some time to ponder it again.Hmmmm... I'll keep you posted. Ra? Any other ideas? IP: Logged |

future_uncertain,The dream seems very positive to me, you are will to face your fears, you want to explore.. the ghosts, represent spirituality facing the unknown dimension..which is the reality connection Mind=HigherSelf to OverSoul=GOD.. physical status and spritual status as above so below.. all in all, seek the truth, and the Truth shall set you free.. Sending EveryOne lots of Love. ... IP: Logged |

I have had similar dreams. They are very strange and very real to me. It is like I need to open a door to let myself come thru to understand who I really am. Make any sense? But the thing is, I dont want people to know about my other home. It is literally a home within a home. Very strange feeling indeed.IP: Logged |

Hello future_uncertain I tend to agree with freebird. The house is your mind/psyche and the rooms are all of the component parts of self, which you obviously wish to explore and learn about. Your urge to explore indicates a willingness to expand emotionally, mentally, and spiritually ... but life's distracting circumstances tend to interfere. (something always stops you) Perhaps lately you have reached a point in your personal growth that requires a deeper look into self, and here you find old beliefs, behaviours, thoughts, ways of living, that hinder your progress (ghosts) - barriers to overcome. There could be unfinished emotional issues or repressed emotions or experiences (haunted) that you need to acknowledge before you can continue to "explore". What do you think? IP: Logged |

Welcome, Texas White Star I think the home represents your life in general, and the home-within-a-home represents your mind/psyche. Are you a particularly private person? IP: Logged |

Thank you again, everyone, for your insights. I'll think on this more.It seems odd to me that I would have recurring dreams that indicate that I want to explore something within myself, as I feel like I'm very much in touch with "me." But perhaps some things are to close for comfort... possibly resulting in the feeling that this interpretation (which I have stated that I made myself as well) doesn't fit. Denial? Thank you all so much for your responses. Lotus, your insights are a bit different from the rest, but they resonate with me as well. I need to take some time with this. Something is holding me back, even in waking. IP: Logged |

I originally posted a long time ago but the house dreams continue. There are no more ghosts (can't relate that to the coming or going of anything in particular in my waking life) but still, the urge to explore, the feeling of being "home." I've noticed also that these are never houses that I own or live in, but potential homes. I always want them, almost desperately, but I never get to move in. I always wake up feeling ripped from something very dear to me. This has been a long process, deciphering this dream theme, but it's (slowly) moving! IP: Logged |
