Okay, one more thing I wanted to to ask about. In my dreams, it is ALWAYS night time. The closest I have gotten to daylight was a couple of dreams that took place when the sun was setting. In fact, most of my dreams are not even outside. They take place in houses with no windows or windows covered in drapery...or in places that seem to be outdoors but are in fact covered areas where you can see the outdoors (where it is inevitably night time) but where I never go.

Also, the houses or buildings are always vastly huge and I know that I could keep walking through them forever and feel like I never see all of them.

Any insights?

I get the basic symbology of it all, but again, a different or fresh perspective always helps!

Peace!

Love xo

Hello Love

As you know, night time can symbolize unawareness, unconsciousness, secrets, or that which is hidden ... somehow though, I do not feel these necessarily apply in your case as such. You feel like an aware type of person. Instead, it could be that the night time reflects the deeper nature of your personality and of your mind. Because the night is a dominant theme, it could be suggested that much of your interest/energy/focus lies in the exploration/development of the psyche, the mind, and understanding your own psychology. And this seems to tie in with the other themes of buildings/houses and the indoors.

The huge buildings/houses reflect the expanse of the psyche/mind, which is truly limitless.

The fact that you are usually indoors suggests inner work at issue. On the other side of the coin, it also says something about a separation from spiritual issues (which is symbolized by the outside). This is not to say that you are not a spiritual person, but simply that you are dealing more with the psychological than the spiritual at this time. Or perhaps there is some sort of psychological barrier that is preventing you from truly embracing and exploring you spiritual nature. What do you think?

And all of this is relevant to the other dream you posted, which I am getting to.

Wow ~ Thanks Ra! Yeah, I like to think of myself as aware and working constantly at being self aware but I know that there are always things that we can hide from ourselves so that is why I was wondering about these dreams.

I think what you mentioned about the possible divide between the spiritual and the psychological is very interesting.

I had a visit in Thailand last year with a woman who contacted my spirit guide and she mentioned that I needed to be even more focused on my spirituality which surprised me only because I feel as though I already focus so much on it....however now I wonder if maybe I have been focusing more on psychology than spirituality.

Thanks so much for your comments. They are greatly appreciated! I am going to mull these over.

You are certainly welcome. Perhaps the other dream you posted will give us some more of an idea about what is going on.

Perhaps your dream self is subtly aware that you usually go to sleep at night, and hence you dream of the night.

I'm just curious about what night represents to you?

Well, night time symbolizes the sub- conscious and so I imagine that my sub conscious is always trying to tell me something...i just think it's weird that it's NEVER ever daytime in my dreams, or the one time it was, there were thick, velvet curtains blocking out the sun...like the time I dreamed (years ago) that I lived with my BF and a bunch of gay men in a huge house with those curtains keeping out the light...odd.

Also, when someone keeps you "in the dark", they are hiding something. Do you dream in color? I do, I just always assumed that everyone else does to, but that is not the case.

I'm not sure if I dream in colour...I only remember the dream itself...not the details. I think I might dream in colour sometimes...not sure why I think that though.
