One of my best friends in the Navy was a guy named John. He was Irish from Ireland. He grew up in Castle Knock, which I believe is a Dublin area neighborhood. He and I were great friends throughout our four years in the Navy.

When we got out of the Navy, he convinced me to move in with him and his Capricorn girlfriend. (How the heck I know her sign and not his is perplexing, but I'm a Capricorn, too.) Needless to say, at some point they decided to ditch me and get a place of their own. That wouldn't have offended me at all except that they didn't tell me of their plans until after they'd given their one month notice to our landlord. I still didn't make waves, but waited until they left before I expressed my anger at being left out of the loop.

Shortly after, he just seemed to disappear. My other local Navy friends had also kept in touch with him, and all of us lost track of him completely.

Since then I've had dreams about him from time to time, and last nights was the most poignant.

My dream:
He seemed to be working in small 4' deep pool. More like a tub I guess. I'm not sure what was wrong with it, or why he was working on it. There was a moment of recognition, and I was just dumbfounded at having run into him finally. He just kind of smiled smugly.

The Capricorn girlfriend seemed to be milling around as well, but she looked a lot different. John himself looked like he aged a bit.

This is the first dream where I've expressed to him how concerned I was about his disappearance, how I've had dreams about him, how I thought that maybe he'd died. He just kind of smiled smugly at me.

He didn't say anything during the dream, and that was the end of it. I think I was still telling him about how I and our other friend had searched for him.

Was kind of unsettling.

Do people dream of people who died? This mystery always weighs heavy on me whenever it comes up.

This is interesting:

quote:

Attention, Children!
At this time you have to deal with your own hurt feelings - either you are reminded of old wounds by some incident, or a sore point is disturbed again. Maybe you feel a little weak and are conscious of a certain aversion to handling the usual everyday interchanges - a feeling as if you were coming down with flu. If you now have the need to be alone, then that is what you should really do. If you make too many demands on yourself or if you are not left in peace, you may become hurtful to others - for example, your children if you are a parent - as a result of a certain indifference. Fortunately, this influence lasts at most half a day.

That was part of my personalized horoscope for today from Astro.com

Even more strange:

The interpretation above is for your transit selected for today:
Moon Square Chiron exact at 06:09 (AM, they use a 24-hour clock)
active only on 23 March 2006.

That could very well be when I was having the dream.

Hello AG

Wow, that horoscope really sums it up nicely! Very interesting.

Do you know if your old buddy is living?

I don't know. Though these dreams are infrequent, whenever they happen I always contemplate that possibility that he's dead.

You do associate 'finality' with him 'passing' from your life.. it was sudden, unexpected, and you didn't hear from him again.
I can see the death connontations.... and how it would sum up psychologically how you feel when he enters your consciousness.

*salutes*

It could be entirely symbolic, it is just that the way you describe the dream, the feeling of it, the way he did not speak, and gave you that look, well, it is exceedingly similar to the 'dreams' I have when my father visits.

But then, in the same vein, I suppose this dream could just as easily have been an astral encounter ... or entirely symbolic.

What do you feel?

I just wish I knew that he was ok, and that there was a chance of meeting again.

Update: He is alive. I've found him on Facebook. No more crazy dreams.
