okay this is from my daughter Jessica..

in her words..

we were at this ranch, and they were 4 guys who worked there. They let a bull out of it's pen..and they said if we didn't run..it wouldn't hurt us..
So we(me, my mother, my sister, and my grandmother) started walking slowly to the car..and the bull started running in circle's around us..then I started running to the car..and the bull was trying to charge me..then my mother told me to get on the roof of the car..because the doors were locked..then Nanny found the keys..unlocked the doors..we all made it into the car..
then the bull disappeared..all of sudden I see a baby sea lion..and it was roaring at us..and my mother sister and nanny were screaming and crying that it was evil..so I picked it up by the neck skin..and through it out of the car..then it cryed and started running back to the people at the ranch..and I woke up..

Ra..and everyOne..this is my daughter's dream..and I can't understand it..it's bothering her..please any thoughts would be appreciated..

Sending EveryOne Lots of Love

P.S. she added ahe was afraid of it and threw it out..but than felt bad..because it was crying

Hello lotusheartone

Before going too far, let us first see if my train of thought is anywhere close. The dream seems to reflect certain issues and attitudes about men in her life. There is a definate separation between the feminine symbols (mother, sister, grandmother, and herself) and the masculine (ranch, 4 guys, bull, sea lion) with conflict and emotional duress between the two, leading me to think that this dream could be about the men (or a man) in her life, versus the women. Could this be so?

How old is Jessica? Is her father in her life? How is that relationship?

Okay, the dream makes a lot of sense. The bull is her father. The baby sea lion symbolizes a needed masculine energy. She needs it, but at the same time fears it, because her environment (ie, the female family presence), as well as experience (unfortunately), portrays it as 'evil', or so she perceives.

So there is a conflict going on in her mind, and the animals in the dream also suggest that there is emotional conflict, but that this is more deeply rooted, and more deeply suppressed.

As you have begun to realize, the root of this issue probably goes back a ways ... "I don't really get along with my dad very well either..oh my!"

I'll be back when I have more time. If Jessica wants to make a personal response, or if she has any questions, please don't hesitate.

A few more thoughts about the symbols ...

A ranch can be thought of as a large area of land enclosed by a fence, symbolically suggesting an area of one's life, or one's psyche, which is "closed off". In this case the ranch is worked by 4 guys, suggesting that this issue concerns the foundations (4) of Jessica's thoughts/attitudes/experiences as relates to men. And, as mentioned previously, there is the separation of the feminine and masculine in the dream, further delineating the male issue, and suggesting that the female influence in her life has much to do with her attitudes/thoughts about men, for better or worse. (of course her own experience is also a factor) So, some of this issue appears to be generational in nature (grandmother-mother-Jessica).

The bull is Jessica's father, and this symbol indicates a sort of rage (like a 'raging bull') which is manifest in him, while also indicating an internalized, unconscious, emotional 'rage' within her.

The baby sea lion represents masculine energy, or men, in it's innocent, most non-threatening form. Jessica would very much like to nurture this energy, to make it grow in her life, to be okay with it, but she believes that it is inherently evil (because of her childhood 'programming'), and it is upsetting to the women in her life, and so she rejects it, and sends it back into the "closed off" area in her mind. Great conflict here.

That's the gist of it.
