Well, there's two dreams actually.

The first dream was somewhat like the horror movie Ring. I was one of her victims, and I was afraid, at first, I knew there was a scene where I was sitting outside, and the sky was gray, like it was in the movies, and I was just waiting for her, and I could feel her presense, the evil girl ghost's, and I had almost given up. And then an old man--at least, I think he was an old man--he turned to me, and he was white, his hair was white, I believe, and he said that if I looked inside myself, and cultivate those that I wish, I have a chance of not dying a horrible death in the next week. And then the next scene is of me much much happier, and I was less afraid.

And then the next night, I dream that...that I was going to kill my mother. I had a shotgun, and I went through great trouble tyring to get her in the kitchen. I was fill with such anger and despair. And then...well, then somehow we appeared in my kitchen, and my mom was there...I think my stepdad was too...and then I was like, no, I don't want to kill you, it doesn't matter anyway. And I was going to put the gun down, but then she turned to me and said, "you went through so much trouble. Just shoot me a little." (???) So I shot her in the thigh...I remember a round red circle appeared immeidately, and then she left and went on her day. It was a compromise...

Hello Christina

The first dream suggests that you feel like a victim in some way, but the old man, who is what is called an archetype, and who represents spiritual knowledge and wisdom, and who often has advice concerning psychological issues/development ... he assures you that you needn't fall prey to fatalistic illusion, that you can change your "fate" from being a victim to being in control, and all it takes is an internal shift or change in perspective.

The second dream indicates that you have been very angry at your mother, but that this is or will be transformed (kitchen). Perhaps she will understand more of your point of view ... or is this simply what you wish to happen? In the dream there is compromise, so you may have to meet her half way.

What do you think?

That makes sense

but I was wondering--how come people dream the same thing that would have the same meaning? I mean--why would the old man be an archetype of a wise man--who gives pshycological advice etc.--I mean...why would people dream "him" when they are trying to symbolize a wise person? Does that make sense? Like...why do we all dream the same thing, same "old man" to symbolize someone "wise". Almost...?

Because our minds are all linked, our individual consciousnesses are all parts of the collective consciousness, or collective unconscious. And this connection that we have with the collective goes back as far as human history. So, we all share a certain basic symbology which has developed over aeons.

Make any sense?
