My Gran just rang me and told me she'd had a dream last night about my dad.

This is quite odd on 2 counts: first is that they didn't really get on terribly well and second is that he died exactly 10 years ago today.

She said that in the dream, she was in a very crowded pub. Typical dream state in that she only half recognised the people in the pub and no one really stood out.

That was until my dad suddenly appeared in the crowd and walked towards her smiling. She said she was really surprised and pleased to see him and she got up, said his name and shook his hand warmly and hugged him.

He just smiled back at her and she said it was as though he was telling her everything was all right.

She said she wasn't thinking about him at all before hand and had only just realised today that it was 10 years since he died.

It seems he came back 10 years to the day to make his peace with her almost? I wish he'd come and visit me - no peace to make here but a whole lot of hugging to do!
I miss him so much.

That is a beautiful dream, and experience. A very classic description. I have no doubt in my mind that that was your dad.

Thanks to both of you
Yep it does seem as though he picked his moment to add meaning to his gesture. That's my dad alright!
